we ate there the night before we left. We ordered dessert online. The server made us show her our receipt for the dessert before bringing it to our table. When she finally brought our dessert she was very sour and didn’t even apologize. Seemed very rude.

Wonderful location inside the old medieval wall! Steps from the Carnarvon Castle! Nice bar(s) and seating areas inside and out. On the other hand why would they put a senior on the third floor with no elevator?!! Shower drain was clogged but maintenance did fix that after I brought it to their attention. The biggest issue was the unseasonable heat. No A/C in these old hotels and the top floor was unbearable hot. All I had was a small 10 inch fan which was all but useless. Come on guys! Put some bigger fans on those top floor rooms! I’d stay there again, only on the condition of a ground floor room.

Hotel and staff were great. Very warm welcome at check-in, room was clean but quite warm and stuffy. Sadly the food in the restaurant whilst only pub food was quite expensive and extremely poor quality. We would definitely stay at the hotel again but would eat elsewhere.

Great location and everything there when you need it

We had a nice spacious room, if on the top floor of the nearby Ty Dre Town House. It was very quiet and we slept well in the very big and comfortable bed. The reception staff were very polite and helpful. We only stopped two nights but ate, both nights, in the Black Boy. It had a good range of meals of locally sourced ingredients. Between us, we tried four, all delicious, possibly more generous helpings than we needed! I also found a very nice local real ale pint ~ so good, I managed 3 each night!

Great location. Beautifully refurbished rooms

Brilliant stay. The room was clean and a good size, the staff were really friendly, the place was easy to find, centrally located and close to shops, the castle, the bus station and the pub next door did wonderful food. There was also a good size TV in the room and a kettle as well as complimentary teabags and coffee. Apart from the fact the shower tray got full very quickly and took a while to drain I can't think of a single negative. Really good value. One of the best hotels I've stayed in for a long time.

Interesting historic hotel. Quirky. Lovely room on 2nd floor. Limited and expensive parking but overnight free parking close by.

Superb location, clean and excellent food

Great food both breakfast and dinner. Room was clean modern and spacious. We stayed in 23 at the top,mind your head. Parking available next door, very convenient. Staff were polite smart and helpful.

Breakfast was great

Room 3, is a room to be avoided. The window opens only slightly, it is a very warm stuffy room, adding to the temperature of the room is a very large extractor fan which faces towards the window. We had 2 very uncomfortable night’s sleep. Would have liked a milk option on the tea tray.

Great location and good beer and food

Beautiful older hotel. Knowledgeable, friendly staff. Rooms were clean and well-maintained. They have done a fantastic job of ensuring that people who have accessibility needs have options, but that the historic charm is also maintained. Very good food, served in a beautiful historic setting!

Receptionist friendly and helpful with parking , buses and directions . Room lovely added little kitchen area which was a bonus . We stayed as a base for walkiing up Snowdon
