Upon arrival the reception was not staffed (unlike the confirmation stating it would be between 3pm and 7pm), ringing the number noted on the front door we were confronted with a very annoyed woman stating that text confirmation would have been sent for security codes for the required doors (no email nor text were ever received through Expedia or directly). She then angrily agreed to attend the property to let us in stating she was 2 minutes up the road. Upon arriving she was very confrontational and rude toward both of us. We asked where the new forest was as in the property details it showed close location, where it is actually on a main road. When we got into the property this attitude continued whilst she tried checking to see if the messages had been sent but it would not allow her which seemed to anger her even more. She then handed the key to us and abruptly informed us where to go stating “oh you’re in one of the nice rooms” sounding rather shocked. Upon entering our apparent suite I was even more disappointed with the furnishings and size of the room. The bathroom was poorly lit, the bed apparant super kind was not connected properly and during the night the mattresses started to seperate, only one window opened and the air condition just constantly decided to switch itself off. Upon departure the same woman was stood there and just glared at us as we left. I would urge anyone thinking of booking this hotel not to and find somewhere else or buy a tent.

Room was spacious and clean. Due to my poor phone signal the email with details of entry to the hotel hadn't downloaded but we were welcomed and the key situation and door code were explained to us. Really handy location but main road was a bit noisy although an air conditioner unit meant we didn't need the windows open. We could also hear the people above talking and walking about on creaking floorboards but it was very competitively priced for a hotel on the edge of the New Forest National Park.

Very clean. Good beds and good crockery and cutlery in the kitchen. Easy parking right in front of the property.

We stayed on one of the hottest weeks of the year, there was no air con. They used a cheap plug in machine, like a fan just recirculating hot air. This was unbearable. The road the lodge is situated on, is extremely noisy. So having the windows open, only made matters worse. Don’t book this venue if you’re a light sleeper or sensitive to noise. A branch fell off the tree, that was in the designated parking area and scratched the roof of my car. The details clearly state it’s staffed 3-7 but then I was told it’s staffed 3-5. We arrived before 5 and there didn’t appear to be any staff onsite available. People outside were calling out to each other loudly between 6-7am, I’m not sure if these were guests or not but I wasn’t impressed. My nights sleep was hot and disturbed throughout.

It is a nice hotel for 2 nights. In the room was a selection of tea & coffee. It has the bonus to be next to a very good Indian Restaurant which it would recommend. From the hotel it was an easy reach to Salisbury and Stonehenge.

On arrival the kay safe did not worked but we were grateful for the prompt response from the emergency number and helpfulness of the lady who assisted us. However, the bed/mattress on the left hand side of the room is not fit for purpose i could not sleep at all as springs/metal protruding up. The 'fan unit' was not 'fit for purpose' either being extremely noisy and not producing sufficent cold air. The shower was over the bath with a shower curtain and when pulled over did not provide sufficent light in shower. I would not recommend or stay here again it was chosen for being dog friendly and near Ferry terminal. I have contacted the Manager to express my concerns for future guests and seek compensation for the lack of sleep however they have refuted my claims, I pity the next person who stays in Room 1.

Another great stay at the New Forest Lodge - super convenient for a pre-cruise stay. Rooms are well appointed and great value, the Indian restaurant next door and a pub up the road is a bonus.

A bit too hot during warm weathers, no air conditioning and the property is located near noisy major road so it may be quite disturbing.

Everything was nice and clean. The room was really nice generous size. It’s a little outdated but not too old and it being clean makes totally up for that. Plenty of space for our dog as well. There was also a little aircon unit that helped on the current heat and a little fridge. Definitely worse the money.

This hotel is just fantastic. Plenty of parking , spacious clean room with plenty of coffee/tea milk and fluffy towels . The location is brilliant for the new forest and beaches . There is an Indian restaurant next door which is delicious. The hotel has a microwave and plates cutlery si you can heat up your own food or left overs from the curry . I have had the most relaxing weekend break at this hotel and cannot recommend this highly enough .

We stayed at New Forest Lodge for a weekend trip to Paultons Park. Overall I'd say our trip was okay. There were definite areas of improvement and I wouldn't suggest booking if you're looking for luxury. That being said, the room was mostly comfortable and we had everything we needed. When you arrive, if you're situated in a room upstairs, I could see the carpet was very worn. It wasn't the best impression. The decor is quite dated and the TV is pretty small. The king bed was comfortable. The singles however were put up beds and were uneven and not terribly comfortable. There was carpet worn away at the bathroom threshold to the point the grippers were exposed which presents a hazard, expecially for young children. The radiator in the bathroom was also damaged and didnt look overly reassuring of its safety. The check in was using a keysafe as the reception wasnt manned. I did see some staff briefly both mornings of our stay. Its a shame they dont have more of a presence. The lodge met our needs for the purpose we booked it for, I just feel it would be much improved with some investment into refurbishment.

The lady on reception was very friendly and helpful and always happy to have a chat when we were coming and going. Plenty of parking, room is a bit outdated if I was being ultra-critical but for the value of our stay it was a great value for money. The room was clean and had everything you needed. I would definitely stay here again
