The property is a bit worn down but that’s the charm of it. Breakfast was outstanding. The property is right outside the fish market which is a bustling area but read reviews about whether the place you chose to eat out is worth it. There is a wonderful bar/music venue down the street named Felix. Might not play during the summer. They served awesome food. Bus stop and tram are very close to the hotel.

This was a wonderful hotel in a fantastic location. The staff were nice and helpful. The breakfast was delicious. We would highly recommend this hotel.

Great hotel for one night

Great place to stay! Centrally located and a quick walk to the Fish Market! Breakfast was excellent!

You can’t beat the location. Directly by water, fish market, lots of great restaurants within blocks. Rooms were spacious, bathrooms have claw foot tubs! Breakfast excellent and for me a pharmacy around the corner thank god!

This is kind of a crazy property. It’s two buildings that have been connected years ago to get to our room. We had to go up elevator down a hall through a crosswalk to the other building and then upstairs kind of crazy not the greatest with all the luggage, but it’s OK The Windows we couldn’t open. They had been screwed shot for some reason. The bathroom was nice and big. We could open the one bedroom window about 3 inches definitely time for a major upgrade facelift.

The hotel is ac17th century wooden building. Massively modified with great bathrooms etc. Our room was junior suite but had little natural light and was quite eccentric. Breakfast self serve and quite limited but ok . Only staff on duty was guy on reception. Hotel rated 4 star but limited bar options , no room service , no food or bar food. We had booked other hotel, Radisson, but norway hotel workers strike had closed that and other similar hotels. Most people there because better option not available. If norway wants tourists it needs to make sure its better hotels are open. Either pay the staff what they deserve or sack them and start again .

Very centrally located by the harbour, across the road for the airport bus and two minutes walk to Unesco Brygge site. Rather tired atmosphere but reasonable value for Bergen. Recommend Mostrtaumen fjord trip, funicular and 'Around Bergen in 80 minutes' walking tour with Don was fantastic

Great location, shame about the building work next door at the museum but the hotel itself was fab.

Amazing hotel, brilliant staff and the rooms and food were top notch!

Great location, comfortable room, friendly staff

The Det Hanseatiske was a very nice hotel. The room was like a cozy cabin. The staff were helpful and friendly. The location makes for easy walking to all the local areas. I won't fault the hotel but please beware on Saturday night the music from the club next door can be very loud into the late hours of the night.

The location is fantastic in center city. Our room was so inconveniently located with corridors, stairs and a connecting passage to the rear building that it became humorous. Funny except for the luggage handling over all the obstacles and twists and turns. the breakfast was very good and the staff were very helpfull. we would stay again if the opportunity arises -- but would be very careful in checking the details of our room location and access.
