I arrived late but the night porter was excellent and provided me with food and drink. The room was fine. The breakfast service was awful, I had to go to reception, where the staff were hanging around chatting, to ask for Milk and orange juice. They never came to my table to ask if I wanted tea or coffee, I had to go back to reception to get them to serve me some coffee, they then cam to my table to ask what I’d like for breakfast. I was told breakfast was from 7-9am, they didn’t have anything ready until 8am and I was let’s for my first appointment because of this.

Checking in was not so easy, had to ring the bell multiple times and eventually almost go behind the counter to flag someone down. The water pressure was so unusually high that the shower head literally flew off its holster at one point and sprayed the hold bathroom with water before I got it back under control! Was slightly funny. The mattress was knackered and urgently needs replacing. Gross.

Room was nice . The staff were very helpful from start to finish and had no problems with us changing rooms so we could have a bath in the room . 1st night was really quite and we slept well. 2nd night was very noisy . We had people being loud and slaming car doors . Then around 3am people talking loud and running baths . The only real issue with the room was we had a lot of ladybirds getting in . One thing I did find strange was we couldn't not get a meal in the hotel as they had not cook thursday or friday night so we had to get deliveries

We had a fantastic stay. We had friend join us for dinner. Great food and great service

Clean warm room. Good shower. Parking a bit tight in the morning due to wedding fayre traders vehicles being parked alongside the hotel.

Friendly staff, comfortable room, nice food. Close to the local towns but in a quite location. Enjoyed our stay.

This hotel is always welcoming. I like the peace of the location and the absence of the big chain feel. Staff are like family and hotel has character. This stay over Xmas was enjoyable and provided a good base for family visits. Breakfast is legendary and a great start to the day. ( I have one breakfast credit I will be back to claim 😊) Bed was comfortable and shower was good those are the big asks. It has a small bar area that is quaint. The only improvement would be some type of evening food not a full menu maybe just hot snacks at the bar. Guess people order in these days. Highly recommended and certainly a regular for me.

Room 22 needs to be deep cleaned, and renovated. would not stay there again. my stay served its purpose for the evening, but maybe I should have made the drive back to my home. very overpriced. definately not value for money. £133 for 1 night inc breakfast (which mine consisted of cornflakes and yoghurt as the cooked breakfast buffet did not look appetising) .

Spotlessly clean. The nicest staff in the reception , bar, kitchen and also a mention for the housekeeper, they cannot do enough to make your stay comfortable. Thank you 🌟

Beautiful setting & building aesthetics. Quaint. Bed was small. No A/C. Thin walls. Could hear ‘everything next door clearly. Yup - that too. So it was nice to visit & walk around. Not great for sleeping.

Overall a good stay. There was a small evening dinner menu, which had to be ordered in advance but the food was hot and of good quality. The bar was good, but in the evenings had one attendant who had to split his time between the bar and front desk. The room was good, though the mattress and pillows were not the best quality and we had stiff necks. Would happily stay again.

Room was small, no place to put suitcases. Food was just OK. The grounds were nice. Quiet spot.

I found my room very dated and bathroom fixed with silicone everywhere but clean , the walls seemed paper thin as could hear talking clearly in next rooms , the menu in restaurant had quite a few things missing and the steak pie I had was dried out inside so not fresh, staff were friendly.

A beautful building in a lovely setting. Included a nice English breakfast. Only complaint would be the age of the bed mattress (could feel the springs)
