A beautiful old building and the bedroom had character but a modern touch.Saff were friendly and helpful and breakfast was excellent

Firstly, it was lovely to stay in an independently owned hotel where the staff clearly have great pride in their hotel and ensuring that guests are happy with their stay. Everyone was charming and helpful. The breakfast was lovely and the evening meal, although not an extensive menu, was freshly prepared and nicely presented. In the evenings this is an extremely popular pub with locals and visitors. The bars were absolutely packed and in the Corn Exchange next door was an AC/DC tribute band. We really enjoyed the lively atmosphere (and we're in our 70's). Two things to take into consideration: The stairs are extremely winding and steep. Ask for help with your luggage if you need to. It won't be a problem. The entrance to the car park is very tight, through a narrow archway. Unless you have a small car don't attempt to turn in from the High Street. Turn up the road opposite the entrance, turn round and come back down facing the archway and enter it square on. Enjoy your stay.

Great breakfest clean rooms daily

Lovely wonky hotel lots of charachter...rooms lovely...with great beds...linen and beautiful em suite....

Everything about the kings head was to our liking. We had a wonderfully quiet room at the back and really comfortable beds with crisp white sheets. The breakfast was well cooked and the staff warm and friendly.

Only reason I didn’t give this lovely quaint place 5* was I found the lady on reception when we arrived ahead a bit “curt” no hello how can I help you, just told us check in isn’t until 3 o’clock so to come back then, the next lady was lovely btw. I also don’t know if we timed it wrong but breakfast was a little chaotic, the only table we could find that hadn’t been cleared wasn't set up for breakfast so we had to request milk, butter, napkins, spoons…but the servers were lovely and accommodating plus this place has a great location and the rooms are impeccable!

Breakfast was fabulous and the bedroom was very clean. Bar had Aircon which was blissful with a temp of 32 degrees !! Staff went out of their way to help with the heat - fan in the room and a spare sheet so you didn’t have to use the quilt …. Much appreciated

All hotel features were very good. Nice, clean room, with comfy bed. Friendly, attentive staff. Good bar & library area which are dog friendly, tho bar snacks & prices a tad expensive. Very good breakfast choices. Location great for town, the Prospect & pubs along the Wye. Symonds Yat visit a must!

Friendly and helpful staff. Room was very pleasant and spacious. For me the curly stairs to top floor was an issue because of mobility problem. But i slept well , good choice of breakfast.
