I had a really nice stay. The spa was definitely the highlight — great facilities and a really calming atmosphere. Food was good, and staff were friendly. I’d happily visit again.

Great location. Good meal in the restaurant & good breakfast. Hotel is looking tired and ready for a refurb. Bar area a little small and furniture very worn. Room clean but bathroom a little small. We did enjoy our stay as great value for money.

I booked here for a catch-up with a dear friend. It was nice and clean, but i booked a twin room, but they gave us a double, so that had to be sorted and the basin in the bathroom was severely cracked, so reported that also. Food was just ok, but expensive, plus the drinks also. A small glass of prosecco and a red wine was over £20 Breakfast was plentiful, but the staff on breakfast duty on 24/3 need additional training in customer services

Stayed here for work for 2 nights. Everything was, on the whole, good. Staff were mostly helpful, the restaurant was very nice with good food, the room was nice enough and comfortable. If I had to ask the hotel to do better on a few things it would be this: 1. The sinks sit on the table in the bathroom, and hard to clean behind, so it looks like the cleaners just don't bother. Desperately needs a deep clean. 2. Doors and windows in my room didn't lock properly. I did report it, but they were still like it when I left. 3. the WiFi is horrendous. I needed to work in my room, but just couldn't. It's better in communal areas, but still not great. If you need WiFi, you might want to look elsewhere. Being really fussy... conditioner would be good too! I forgot mine, and was abruptly told by reception that there is no conditioner onsite! There were lots of couples and families here too and all seemed to be having a jolly nice time.

The bed was very soft and dipped in the middle so my husband and I kept rolling into the middle. We mentioned this to the staff and they offered to move our room or to try with a mattress topper. We started with the mattress topper but it was too big for the bed. We noticed the mattress was over 10 yrs old. The pool is huge and is used by locals as well as guests. Usually more busy in the morning. The steam room did not work and was overall dated and needs a revamp. I noticed all the ventilators l, in the room, in the spa, in the corridors were FULL of dust. The restaurant was good (also needs a deep clean!) the option for breakfast was good and you have the option to request vegi option. Also noticed cobwebs near the lights and the windows walking into the restaurant was full of finger prints. The table was sticky. Staff were very helpful in all areas, the pool opening times are long, which is nice when you want to relax in the evening. It’s about a 3 min walk from the hotel. Overall the hotel is nice but looks like it has been neglected quite a bit.

There was dust on the fan in the bathroom, but other than that the room was clean, tidy and comfortable. The breakfast was great with a good selection and everything being checked for refills regularly. The staff were great, friendly and helpful from check in, the bar to breakfast. We didn’t use the spa or swimming pool. Would stay here again.

Booked because of the spa, such a disappointment. Tiles missing out of the steam room, only noticed as it wasn’t working, not one shower in the spa area working, had to go into changing rooms to shower down after sauna etc. water fountain not working. Changing rooms not much better, locker had key code locking, difficult to find one that actually worked, hair drier not working either. Such a shame it’s being run down as could be stunning.

having had an enjoyable stay previously we booked again and were looking forward to the trip. Sadly, our trip was not possible due to high snowfall and traffic disruption. I messaged the hotel to say the roads were impassable and asked them to refund or move my booking to a later date. Not even an answer despite a follow up mail.

I stayed here for work. 1st night, the room was clean but quite basic. I got woken up at 12.15 am by a group of drunken men who didn’t stop with their noise until 5 am. I told reception the next day and they moved me to a much better and quieter room the next day. Food was excellent in the restaurant. I didn’t try the spa. Staff very welcoming.

Had a lovely stay at this hotel the room was spotless and staff were great, breakfast was also very good as much as you could eat and all fresh and hot. The facilities are also great, pool was warm and we made good use of the sauna and jacuzzi all our towels were provided fresh and clean, however I couldn't find a working locker in the changing rooms and another customer told me that was a common issue. We booked two evenings at the waterside restaurant which is part of the hotel but a separate building, the first evening we had crispy chilli chicken and although very pleasant we felt the portions were very small however on our second visit we had the beef burger with fries and we can definitely recommend it very tasty and more than enough to fill a hungry traveller. Unfortunately on a down side the furniture let it down there were stained chairs throughout the restaurant and that was a shame it lowered the experience of our evening. Also unfortunately we were surprised to find it was card only payments but after a little negotiation we managed to pay by cash although we were told we could not have any change from our bill and that's worth remembering if you like us wanted to pay the old fashioned way.
