The plan Booked the prestige 2 bedroom suite as we are a group of 4 friends coming together and wanted to spend quality time with cocktails in the room before doing a big dinner. The problem Arrived to a very small 2 bedroom box. Upon raising this at the front desk, the staff tried to say that they are basically the same thing, and offered a late checkout instead of the room type that we booked. The actual room When we pushed the point (and only after pushing very hard) they gave us the room type that we had booked. It’s huge. Chalk and cheese from what they tried to palm off as “basically the same”. The bigger issue Whilst waiting for the elevator, listening to the staff try to work out the issue, it was clear that someone in very basic room had been reallocated, taking 2 prestige rooms out in error. It was clear that this would result in someone being downgraded, which they tried to make it be us. One staffer said to the other “why did you not give them this room” to a response “because the know the difference between room types” which highlights the intended lie. Someone got downgraded during the time I stated there, and I’m confident that they were not told. I’m just lucky to have an attention focussed partner who insisted that we got what we paid for. I’m sorry to say that someone else did not.

The room was perfectly clean. We thoroughly enjoy our stay. We will be back. Thanks again.

Great place to stay, close to eatries, civic theatre and transport

Great accommodation with everything jncluded

We given a a mobilty accessable room .Floor tiles in bathroom slippery when wet.Dead bus in bathroom light fittings .Handbasin that low it hurt our backs. Pebbles on bedroom floor ,dusty skirting boards, bedroom door very difficult to open &close.Outside traffic very loud.

Room was super clean and a lot nicer than we expected! And the best part it was safe, getting in and out and to your own room it was very secure. Absolutely amazing for the price and the areas around was so good for food and located somewhere convenient and close to everything you need. Would definitely recommend them.

Clean and comfortable

Very clean and tidy, we stayed with a 10 year old and 4 week old, not very practical having the main bed inches away from the walls on both sides to have the bassinet next to the bed. Otherwise super clean, lovely modern amenities and easy check in and out process.

Clean spacious room

Unfriendly and rude staff. No pool towels provided. The hairdryer is timed can only be used 15 seconds and then off for 2 minutes automatically. No car park included.

Location is good, pool is good, room is good size. Hard to fault

Excellent gym and pool. Location very close to Civic Light Rail connection from Newcastle Interchange.

Clean but our room was 101 and very noisy with street noise and early starts at the job site opposite.

Handy location. Room was quite roomy and comfortable. Construction going on over the road but not noisy enough to worry us. Overall a good place to hang your hat for the night.

I had to wipe coffee stains off balcony table and the bathroom sink appears quite moldy. Everything else appeared pristine and very well equipped. No bed lights so had to turn off light then find bed but diable.

Very comfortable stay close to everything we needed will stay again when in this area.

Room needs a real good deep clean - lots of grime in the corners and on the skirtings, smudges on mirrors and glass, foul odour coming from the shower drain. I requested a late check out but the cleaners barged in at 10am on the dot (the time of the original check out time). A couple of the staff members were lovely and a couple others were very unhelpful - asking them anything seemed like a bother and they gave very short 'yes' or 'no' responses with a sigh. A bit of a strange location without any vibe.

To start with the paid parking system is confusing and poorly handled by staff. So bad that the front counter staff didn't even know what code was needed to leave and return to the carpark on foot. Front counter staff were't friendly and vey impersonal. Access to the hotel and rooms id via a keypad and code. A code that did not work upon our return at 10:45pm. Called after hours number to get into room, the room was then opened remotely and once entered there is no deadlock or way of stopping the room being remotely accessed so security is poor. When we entered the room my wife almost stepped on a nail like furniture part left on the rug and not noticed by the cleaners. No drinking water in the room and no instructions of how or where to access any after hours. Overall a very poor experience given the amount charged and therefore we would not recommend this location.
