Hotel Aurassi is a true landmark in Algiers, and one of the first things you notice is how well signposted it is—there are signs pointing to the hotel all over the city, making it incredibly easy to find.
The building itself is a bit dated, but it is well maintained and has a classic charm that reflects its history. The rooms and common areas were clean, and the staff were always friendly and helpful whenever we needed assistance.
Breakfast was rather low key with a limited selection, so don't expect a huge buffet, but everything was fresh and the staff made their best so guests were taken care of.
The only disappointment was that the swimming pool was still closed at the end of May, which was unexpected given the warm weather.
Overall, it was a decent stay with good service, a convenient location, and a unique atmosphere that makes it a memorable choice for visiting Algiers.
