Hotel Aurassi is a true landmark in Algiers, and one of the first things you notice is how well signposted it is—there are signs pointing to the hotel all over the city, making it incredibly easy to find. The building itself is a bit dated, but it is well maintained and has a classic charm that reflects its history. The rooms and common areas were clean, and the staff were always friendly and helpful whenever we needed assistance. Breakfast was rather low key with a limited selection, so don't expect a huge buffet, but everything was fresh and the staff made their best so guests were taken care of. The only disappointment was that the swimming pool was still closed at the end of May, which was unexpected given the warm weather. Overall, it was a decent stay with good service, a convenient location, and a unique atmosphere that makes it a memorable choice for visiting Algiers.

Definitely not 5* The staff provide zero customer service. Guests recieve irrate or flippant responses. They have numerous reception desks with majority of the staff sitting around gossiping rather than serving guests stood at the reception. When they finally speak to you its quite dismissive. The rooms are large and well appointed. The balconies are also nice as long as the staff deem you worthy of a decent view. One of our rooms had a dead bird on the balcony and no furniture - that room was refused and managed to swap. The pool isnt working. They only seem to open for a 'season'. Complete waste of usable facilities. Quite frustrating - why have a pool if guests cant use it. Noone seems to be able to provide clear instructions about parking. The bar has a nice view. We went here as visitors during our initial stay in algiers (not at this hotel) and then again while guests. The locations quite good. If you wanted its walkable to the casbah and the other shopping street like place audin. Would take 20mins. Indrives are also quite convenient. All in all it could be a great experience if their front desk staff wasn't so stuck up.

Beautiful hotel in close proximity to city center, with beautiful views of the bay. Rooms are comfortable and clean. Pillows are good. You can sit on your private balcony and admire the views. Now for the negatives: no AC, instant coffee from the machines in the restaurant. Food is mediocre. Front desk says that breakfast starts at 6. We'll, they finally put the food out by 7:20.

The first 2 pictures were the condition of my room when I first opened the door after checking in. I went back to reception and the woman at the desk said : ‘The system in my computer said it’s clean. It’s not my problem’ . No apology. When I expressed my incredulity, and asked her to identify herself, she said no. It’s not my fault. So I was forced to take a picture of her for identification purposes. After creating a scene they agreed to change me to another room. Again no apology. As if I was kicking up a fuss. Took her one hour to organise that Totally unacceptable. I would not recommend this hotel. Poor training. Unprofessional staff
