Only stayed one night, hotel was clean, if in need of a bit of an update. Room was at back of property, slight noise from aircon unit (i think, room did not have aircon) from early morning, didnt keep me awake just low hum in the background. Bathroom was clean, didnt use shower. Breakfast was nice but limited ro usual cooked breakfast items. Careals, pastries and toast. Ideal for grwat north showground, Harlow carr and in centre of Harrogate with parking available for booking

The Crown hotel is a well very old building, but very well looked after. Creaky floorboards remind you how old the building is. Enjoyed our stay great lication, would recommend.

The ground floor of the property is beautiful and very well kept with all the style of the period it was built in. The bed rooms were small but had everything you need but the floor boards are a different matter you could here every step the person in the room above took.

It is a beautiful old hotel that really needs some work done to it. If that happens it could be brought back to its glory. The cafe restaurant has very good food and the staff were great. Some of the carpets and bath surrounds left a Lot to be desired in regards to cleanliness

The Crown Hotel in Harrogate is very tired. Worn carpets. Worn and scratched furniture. Creaking floors with every step (literally). Duct tape on the carpets in the Bronte room. Stains on carpets in my room. The furniture in the "executive" suite was worn and scratch ed - honestly in need of replacement. The staff are great! Friendly, welcoming and doing the best they can in a hotel that needs updating. Almost every stair carpet is worn away at the nose of the tread. The paint on the wall in our room was bubbled and peeling in places. This hotel needs a several million GBP renovation.

Very efficient check in with friendly staff. The room was clean. It was an executive suite and very spacious, almost too much so as it felt oddly sparse. As mentioned in previous reviews, the room and furniture were ‘tired’ and in need of updating. The hotel must have been glorious in its heyday but its splendour has definitely faded. Having said that, I thought the 2 night stay was good value, and the hotel is in a very central location. Don’t expect luxury but do consider its value for money and its location.

There was no toilet brush in the bathroom, no extractor fan to take away smells and shower steam. There was no side table on one side of the bed, glasses of water, cups of tea, mobile phone and personal items had to placed on the floor beside the bed. Room was clean and tidy

The welcome was good. Booked parking and was told which bay was ours for the night. Executive room was huge, needing updating but clean. Bed was super hard pillows thin so didn't sleep too well. Informed the receptionist on check out but she only wished us a safe journey home. No mention of the poor sleep. The executive breakfast was superb, a mixture of continental and cooked. The gentleman looking after us really lovely and efficient, thank you. Can't comment on the bar as we didn't use it, but 2 coach parties were making use of itm

We had cheapest room, and was an absolute bargain. was warned at reception that it was 'cosy'. the staff member, without me asking, looked to see if she was able to give us a free upgrade but we were there for a few days over busy period so there wasnt anything available. I was pleasantly surprised by the room - It was a great size for cosy! Its a stunning hotel with some many beautiful old features. I spotted two very small patches that could do with a little attention in decor - will i think is impressive in such a huge old building. I'm so grateful that businesses choose to preserve these properties - it must come at a price! Staff were all so lovely and welcoming. Food was great. Will definitely look at staying again when in the area.
