The Chateau was beautiful inside and out! We had a room on the second floor with sweeping views of the city and the lake, from both our front window and a small balcony on the lake-side of the building. The views were unbelievable! We had breakfast on the Terrance the next morning, with the same beautiful views! The funicular was not working due to a thunderstorm the day before we arrived, so we were bummed about not being able to access the property with that, but there was a shuttle van from the hotel that transported us both directions as needed, which was nice. The drivers of the shuttle were very friendly and helpful, as were all the staff at the hotel. It was one of the best hotels we’ve ever stayed at! Get a room with a view! It’ll be worth it!

One of the best hotels we have ever stayed. The staff were very accommodating and the gentleman at the concierge, who helped us with our luggage was very knowledgeable and very friendly. The views are stunning and the hotel itself was just beautiful.

Great view of lake lucerne and the city. Room was spacious but A/C couldn't handle the heat. Bring your own fan for a backup. The bed wasn't very comfortable. The fenicular from the hotel was very handy and free.

What a treat to stay in such a beautiful hotel. The rooms were great with a large terrace overlooking the lake. We had a couple of small issues with our room which were dealt with very quickly and to our complete satisfaction. Lots of stairs from the Funicular but gorgeous property overlooking Lucerne.

We had a nice stay at Château Gütsch. The highlight of the hotel is undoubtedly the spectacular view from the terrace, which overlooks Lucerne, the lake and the surrounding mountains. It’s the main reason to stay here and it’s truly breathtaking, especially in the evening. Our room was comfortable, and the air conditioning worked perfectly, which was much appreciated during the hot weather. The breakfast was also very good, with a nice selection. One of the hotel’s biggest advantages is its location. Although it sits on top of the hill, getting to the city centre is incredibly easy thanks to the private Gütsch funicular, which takes you down to the centre in just a couple of minutes. The only aspect of our stay which could be better was dinner at the hotel restaurant. While the setting and views are beautiful, the food itself was fairly average and didn’t quite match the standard we expected from a hotel of this calibre. If you’re looking for a hotel with unforgettable panoramic views, and easy access to the city, Château Gütsch is an excellent choice.

Very friendly staff. The rooms were clean and well taken care of. Our own controllable A/C unit was in the room! Great views of the town. The funicular makes getting down to town quick and easy. Large Parking area. Me and my wife both agree that Château Gütsch is a must stay when visiting Luzern, and a room with a city view is well worth the extra cost.

Beautiful hotel, but with my room being one of the rooms without A/C and it not cooling off until 11 AM, the decision to host the World Cup games at, I’m assuming the hotel’s

The hotels appearance is overwhelming. The views from the terraces is beautiful. The staff is great. HOWEVER, I would NOT recommend staying during the summer months and confirming the rooms are heated in the cooler months.

Beautiful hotel on the hill overlooking Lucerne. The funicular made it easy to walk to town and to the boats. They made sure we had a room with AC (not all do). Great stay.

It was beautiful hotel. It does not have AC so got really hot in room. They provided a fan. We tried the restaurant it was good. Service is not the best but views are amazing. I loved it, it’s away from the noise but area is not as nice on the other side of the hotel.

The property is beautiful and it is fun to ride the funicular up and down to get there. The hotel is close to everything so it is a great location. Our issue was with the room. I know it’s an old building and perhaps little can be done, but our tiny room consisted of a bed up a rickety, noisy stair case and a bathroom which was literally the entryway of our room on the first level. All of that could work if the other space had a nice cozy feel but there were only two chairs in our room, like dining room chairs, so no comfortable place to rest after a long day out walking. And the chairs were separated, one upstairs and one down so you can’t sit with your spouse. For the most expensive place we stayed in for our weeks in Europe, it was a disappointment.

Best views of Lucerne from the hotel. Centrally located within walking distance to most of city center attractions, restaurants and shopping. Funicular on the premises made it even more convenient to access the city. Prefect place to view and enjoy Lake Luzern.

Original room provided was below expectations but we were then moved to an acceptable room. Very disappointed that for a four night stay a bottle of water was only provided on first day! For the amount we were paying it isn't much to expect.
