Review: Stay at Sky Hotel Kota Kinabalu (March 2026). Overall Experience. We recently completed a long-term stay ending on March 31st, 2026. While there were several highlights, there are critical safety and maintenance issues that the management needs to address. The Highlights: Staff & Atmosphere. The front desk team was wonderful—energetic, helpful, and always wearing a smile. The lobby is pristine, and the public toilets are kept very fresh. We particularly loved the hotel’s signature "Essential" fragrance; it’s a beautiful touch. Additionally, the views from the rooftop pool area are absolutely spectacular. Critical Concerns: Safety & Maintenance. Bathroom Safety: This is my primary concern. The bathroom drainage system is inadequate, causing water to pool on the floor. Because there were no floor mats provided, the floor becomes dangerously slippery. My daughter unfortunately suffered a fall after showering due to the dampness. Furthermore, tracking water into the main room left marks on the flooring and created a slip hazard throughout the unit. Pool Hygiene: The swimming pool requires immediate attention. I noticed algae growth (lumut) at the bottom and around the edges of the pool, which is unhygienic for a public facility. Wi-Fi: The internet connection was quite poor and inconsistent during our stay. Conclusion. The staff and the views are the hotel's greatest assets, but the lack of safety measures in the bathrooms and the maintenance of the pool are disappointing. I hope management looks into these issues to ensure a safer experience for future guests. Key Improvements Made: Clarity on the Accident: Changed "My daughter was fall" to "My daughter suffered a fall" to emphasize the seriousness of the safety hazard. Professional Tone: Used terms like "inadequate drainage" and "hygiene concern" to make the review sound more authoritative. Flow: Grouped the positive and negative points so the feedback is organized and easy for the hotel manager to read.
