Solo traveller - peaceful night in a very comfortable bed and spacious room. Cleanliness up to speck with crisp white bedding and fluffy towels. Wonderful breakfast with tasty locally sourced bacon. I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve chosen the Derby Arms for a stay over now, for a fussy traveller it fits the bill beautifully! Central location for Longridge/Ribble Valley.

We booked this a layover for our journey but we definitely think we’d come back here as our main destination. The location is beautiful and the hotel/pub/restaurant was fantastic. The room was well presented with a comfy bed and big bathroom. The restaurant served a lovely meal and then we spent time in the bar for a few drinks afterwards. A very nice calming atmosphere with fantastic views of the countryside around it. Staff were very helpful, welcoming and friendly.

Room comfortable and bathroom very nice. However breakfast was a big shock! Not included in the room rate, we were given menus and selected 1 full English and an omelette, which were of average quality, and menu total was £22.50. The bill was £36! Apparently the coffee, tea, and cereal and juice (on buffet table) was NOT included, although this was not stated on menu or mentioned at all. This is completely different to anyplace we have ever stayed in the UK. When we complained we were refunded £7 for 2 small bowls of cereal and one orange juice. Very disappointed generally about the charge without notification.

The the room was lovely really comfortable , evening meal was nice just unfortunate some of the deserts had run out and after 3 failed orders we finally picked one they had. Breakfast was really nice

Beautiful room,really good and friendly staff,good food and very good beer. We had a problem with one area and it was dealt with well. Our second stay here so hopefully we will return.

The room was clean, comfortable and well maintained with good decor. The bathroom had a powerful shower and enough room around the basin for your wash bags. Lighting in the bathroom is always an issue for me (!) so as usual I had my mirror on the window sill in search of natural light. We ate in the pub on the first night, sharing a platter. Good menu. My partner sampled the local beer and was pleased he did. Although a full breakfast was on offer we just had a yoghurt & some toast. The toast tasted slightly fish flavoured??? It was a trip visiting family, the location was good and we would stay there again.

I wasn't sure what to expect before I arrived at the Derby Arms but the initial greeting was warm and sincere. My room was delightful, clean and well appointed with a good sized bathroom with both a bath and a choice of shower heads. For both nights I ate in the restaurant and was served by a charming and efficient waitress. In addition to the normal menu, a 'Specials' menu was offered which I'm pleased to report was different each night. The food was delicious, nothing pretentious and was nicely presented. Breakfast was ok. Limited but quite adequate. Yes - it was January and the weather was threatening a dusting of snow but it was shame that both the restaurant and bar were so quiet. I wish the Derby Arms every success and I will certainly consider returning.

Good place to stay.

Room good size and clean. Could do with two bedside lamps rather than one. Extractor fan clunking noise when on. Room next door were noisy at night, so soundproofing would be good. Construction work started in next room before 0800 to change window.. Didn't need an alarm clock.

Room was nice although a slight leak from the bathroom basin onto the counter surface. On the Sunday evening called in for a drink at 10 p.m. at bar to be told that the bar was shutting up at 10.30 promptly which was a little disappointing (assumed there would be 20 mins drinking up time as is generally the case in pubs). Breakfast was ok but choice of cereal had run out with an hour of the breakfast service to go with no replacement available.

Staff services immaculate, food 10/10 stayed in number 2 hardly any noises, slept really brilliant. Felt safe to sleep at. Good weekend overall. Would definitely recommend and be back.

I was staying at the Inn where I was to celebrate my 80th Birthday Party with my family. The staff were very attentive and the food was excellent. I will attach a view from my window, my full English breakfast, and my birthday cake.
