Beautiful hotel right on the bank of the Zurich Lake. Unfortunately the hotel was still under construction so we couldn't get to use the outside restaurant - but nevertheless lovely hotel and would definitely stay again. The buffet breakfast is a must and the front desk was incredibly helpful and nothing was too much trouble. Highly recommend if you are going to Zurich!

Only complaint - hotel in a massive renovation, not clearly communicated at Expedia site - ended up in a room facing afternoon sun, outside 30C plus, inside way above that as cleaners had not bothered to close the shades. A noisy fan did not help. Find it very disappointing that £440 per night hotel has no air con (and when we asked will not have as old building is protected and no air con can be installed. Our first visit was 1994, and many times thereafter.

Lovely room in a beautiful hotel!

Lovely room overlooking the lake. Staff was mostly friendly and competent. Loved having the boat shuttle just outside the hotel. Bar needs more beer options.

Very nice hotel right on the lake. Easy access to downtown Zurich by boat or train both of which are right by the property. Rooms are updated but small compared to American hotel rooms and no air conditioning.

Great place if you wish to stay a bit outside of the city but near the lake front.

Absolutely lovely hotel on Lake Zurich. Highly recommend, we stayed three nights in the 2nd floor suite which was large and accommodating. The private lakeside and bear garden is incredibly convenient and you’re 20 minutes from Zurich by boat or train!

Wow! Loved this hotel! The decor is stunning, the beds are super comfy, the location on the lake is dreamy, and the breakfast was excellent! We loved being on the lake and away from the hustle and bustle of the city. We also the loved the historic appeal of many of the rooms. The sauna was enjoyable and an added bonus. Will return one day!

Fantastic property and restaurants

Sonne is a wonderful property with very friendly staff. Our stay was perfect from the moment we entered. Its a hidden gem and I highly recommend staying here during your visit to Zurich

Great hotel a bit overpriced but worth!

The hotel was beautiful and the staff were friendly and welcoming. They were helpful with any question we had. There were a lot of events occurring on property so the parking area got crowded but the car attendant did a great job moving cars to accommodate. The hotel was also beautifully decorated for the holidays!

Nice lake views; occasional bad smells (3 times in two weeks); regular restaurant service is good in the newly reopened Stuebli it is fair at best; while food was great, waiters did not remove empty bread plates and champagne glasses at all, wine service was mediocre, guests closed the door while staff did not thus creating drafts. Maybe just reopening issues? Overall staff was very good. Easy train access into the city. Nice walks along the Tobelweg.

We checked in to the hotel and had to wait for a room. No problem… but we asked for a water view room. Every other hotel on the trip upgraded us. Not here. They had rooms available for an extra $175. per nite. Our room looked over the road. It was so small we could not lay our luggage out. Could barely walk around the room. Thomas in dining was great and engaging. Won’t go back there ever.

super cozy and comfortable hotel. great views. breakfast ok not wow and check-in process/staff is never great. They are rude and not clear about the rules about parking. Also they charge 20 CHF for the parking.

Booked the day before staying. Head of the bed tilted down. Could hear the wedding party as if the bed was on the dance floor. Room overpriced again last minute. Food good as always. We have stayed here several times before and everything was excellent. Normally I would give five stars for the Sonne

Beautiful artfully decorated lakeside retreat with modern amenities, water taxi stop, fitness and wellness facilities, restaurant, blankets for use for outdoor dining, very classy.

Perfect stay at this lakeside hotel. Great location, beer garden and fine restaurant with lovely wellness area.
