We had an overall enjoyable stay at Eganridge. The property is beautiful, the lake views are stunning, and the staff were consistently friendly and helpful. We also really enjoyed the restaurants—the food and service were excellent, and the team was very accommodating with our baby.
That said, there were a few disappointments, especially considering the premium price. The cottage could have been cleaner, and details like mouldy caulking around the bathtub shouldn’t be overlooked at this price point. The biggest issue was the pool. It’s advertised as a resort amenity, but it’s actually a cold plunge pool restricted to guests aged 12 and over. This wasn’t made clear on the website or social media, and it was one of the main reasons we booked, so it was disappointing that our family couldn’t use it. The beach is lovely but quite a long walk from the cottages, and a shuttle or golf cart service for families carrying beach gear would make a big difference. While the beach is groomed daily, there was also quite a bit of goose droppings.
Overall, we had a good stay and would consider returning. With a few improvements to cleanliness, clearer marketing, and more family-friendly amenities, the experience would better match the price of the resort.
