Loved this place! Breakfast was amazing! Staff was so nice and attentive. The complementary drinks (water, sodas, tea, coffee) and pastries were very helpful especially b/c this location is a bit of a walk from any stores. Location is perfect if you are wanting to be in a quiet residential area with beach and park right across the street, but it is several miles from city center. We walked from the tourist part of town a few times because we were able to walk through Beacon Park which is amazing park. If you looking for a quiet, scenic location, this is the place for you. Just be prepared to do some walking (or driving) in order to explore downtown attractions.

The rooms are clean and quiet and the breakfast is good. The common area is very limited and not very inviting. Location is great right along the water and bike/walking trails.

The Dashwood met expectations overall. The view from the third-floor Dorset room was sigh-inducing. The deck provided ample space for morning coffee and evening wine. The bed and pillows were SO COMFY that I slept like a rock for 3 nights. The quirky heritage nature of this building made the stay more interesting than any boring hotel. Is it upgraded or updated, without stains or old fixtures? No, but that's part of the charm. The room was not cleaned during my stay, which was actually fine with me except for the dishes that piled up. The location was ideal with walking paths along the ocean and a beach across the road (and down the hill). Breakfast was plentiful (although eggs weren't done as ordered and potatoes were super-greasy), but the all-day hospitality snacks and drinks were a delightful touch (mmmm, the snickerdoodles!). Access was easy and communication was timely.

I enjoyed the experience of a well maintained heritage building and bright open large rooms filled with antiques and new luxury mattresses. The breakfast room was a perfect Victorian vintage theme in a room with stained glass window toppers and a view over looking the ocean. English garden flowers growing in the grounds and only a short walk to the park the ocean or a local grocer. Perfect romantic delightful stay.

Beautiful property with fantastic sea views, adjacent parks perfect for walks, convenient to downtown. Staff was gracious and breakfasts were excellent. We enjoyed a spacious third floor suite with a balcony overlooking the water. Highly recommended. Thanks!

Excellent property and great location

Location near Cook Street Village (600 meters), the beach (across the street), and Beacon Hill Park (across the other street) is fabulous. 10 minute drive to downtown Victoria's inner harbour. Every room is lovely, but Dorset is my favorite with its king size bed, ocean view balcony, and massive bathroom. Breakfasts are magnificent and served daily from 8:30-9:30. Homemade treats are available throughout the day and night, coffee, tea, water and soda are also available 24/7. Each room has its own fridge and coffee maker. Staff are very helpful. No daily housekeeping unless requested. We enjoyed the privacy and never needed it.

The windows in our room were so dirty that it was hard to see the view. The rug was thread bear and had a hole that had been poorly repaired with the rug pad showing through . The gardens may have been lovely in years gone by but clearly aren’t getting any attention now. For almost $400 Canadian/ night I would expect more attention to detail and care for this beautiful old home. I won’t return

The staff were so welcoming and the thoughtfulness of the little pastries they provided was so sweet. The room was gorgeous but I will say the beds could've been better. They weren't super comfy but thats my only complaint.

This was our second stay at Dashwood Manor, and it was just as beautiful as last time! We love how quiet it is, and the location can not be beat! The breakfasts are simple but delicious. The views are amazing, whether it is clear or foggy. The walking path across the street is so easily accessible, and it is great to see all the dogs running and playing in the off-leash park. The walk through Beacon Hill Park to the inner harbor is a great way to start a days journey in the city. The small shops in Cook Street Village are handy to have so close to the Manor. A small walk to some great restaurants and coffee shops, filled with pleasant people and coffee, food, drinks and ice cream. We will be back!

Amazing stay. The most comfortable bed I've ever slept in. We stayed in the Chelsea room. Amazing breakfast each morning, endless 24hr coffee and baked goods, and beautiful location. We stayed 4 nights and it was perfect.

This property is in an amazing location. The rooms might seem a little outdated, but the bed and the pillows were so comfortable and the room was very clean. I have not slept that good on vacation ever! The staff is so kind and helpful, and they also do an amazing breakfast. It is literally right across the street from Spiral Beach, and within walking distance of a small grocery store and several eating establishments. If we ever returned to this area, we will definitely be staying here again, we could not have been happier with our stay!
