I usually don't take the time to write a review unless something out of the ordinary happens, and this time is no exception.
My wife and I came to town for a concert and we just needed a place to spend the night before catching the ferry back to the mainland. We randomly booked the space because it was available. Lucky thing we did because we were pleasantly surprised by what a breath of fresh air the space is and how welcome the hosts made us feel. We have travelled all over the world and Coles Bay B&B was definitely our favourite place to stay out of all of them.
Karey and Howard and their 4 legged adorable poodles, Wall-E and Tigger, were exceptional hosts. Their hospitality really shows in their friendliness, attention to detail, and warmth. The room was great and felt really homey - lots of books, TV with Netflix, as well as a small fridge, microwave, tea kettle, coffee machine, plenty of USB charging ports, and other small necessities if you happened to forget them. The mattress was firm with a thick plush topper. Although my personal preference is for a softer mattress, my smart watch said I slept great though!
Breakfast was freshly prepared and delicious. It included freshly baked croissants, poached eggs, Greek yogurt, and fruit.
The dogs are very well behaved and impressively trained. They are affectionate but do give you space if needed. I'm more of a cat person but I loved Wall-E’s cuddles and he even gave me a dance or two which was a treat for me in itself.
We would have liked to extend our stay but I had work that evening.
Karey and Howard - you are wonderful hosts and people, and it was a pleasure to meet you. We wish we had more time to take you up on the offer to take the dogs to the beach, that would have been nice. We won't forget this stay and will definitely stay with you again when we visit the Island (regardless of where we’re going!).
