It was the tiniest room I’ve ever stayed in. I’m talking smaller than small (with nowhere to even put a suitcase). Also the reception is one street away, in an entirely different hotel, which wasn’t clear in the reservation. The stairwell is also tiny, so unless you’re a backpacker you’ll have trouble with your luggage. Honestly I’ve stayed in hostels that were 10 times nicer and more comfortable. After checking out (on the other street…), the front desk was kind enough to call me a taxi. But that’s about the only positive thing I can write. The location is great, but not worth the price.

There is no elevator and the room is somewhat small, but otherwise no complaints. Perhaps a bit pricey but the location is very convenient for the area around the Cathedral of Saint James. Keep in mind private vehicles cannot enter this area but taxis can.

Comfortable and clean , close to cathedral.

The Pension is very well located in the Santiago old town and close to the Cathedral. The rooms are small but clean and contain everything needed. The staff at the hotel where check in occurs were very friendly and helpful. I'd recommend staying here at the end of your Camino if you are looking for a clean and well located room without frills at a reasonable cost.

Didn’t like carrying suitcase to the third floor. No elevator.

Had been told by the hotel staff that my 1st floor room at Pensión Rua Nova could be noisy at night, especially Fridays n Saturdays. I was prepared with good earplugs, but it must’ve been an off-night cuz it was very quiet and I slept like a baby.

The room was nice and close to everything. The cathedral was only a 2 minute walk away. We had daily housekeeping and the staff at reception were super helpful.

My room in the pensión was very small, clean and quiet, and was ready earlier than I expected. The heat/AC system had a glitch, but it was fixed quickly. The location can’t be beat, right in the heart of Santiago de Compostela. That could’ve presented a problem with street noise, but it was not an issue.

The front desk lady was very professional, kind, and good at her job. She gave me much information and when I needed to extend a night she gave me another room and let me leave my luggage in original room (since it was booked) to be transferred while I was out on tour. Highly recommend this place!

The room, while small (which was clearly explained at booking) it was spotless and well appointed and the little building was clean and quiet. i would recommend it … the location is fantastic.

The location of this hotel couldn’t be any better. Literally steps away from the cathedral. The price was great. The room was a bit small, but I didn’t spend a whole lot of time in the room. It was a bit confusing that you check into Hotel Villar around the block to check in. It was also a bummer after walking for 1 month of the trail and my legs like jello, that I found out my room was on the 3rd floor with no elevator. Bummer! Aside from that it was great and I definitely stay there again…even in a 3rd floor walk up. The last day I was able to store my luggage and get almost a full day of touring before leaving town. Wonderful staff

You could not get a better location. 2mins from cathedral, 5mins to market, surrounded by lovely cafes and restaurants but quiet road in comparison with nearby more tourist roads. Room was serviced every day and spotless! Looks newly renewed interior, bathroom etc and very comfortable. Room was compact but had everything I needed for my 5 night stay. Bathroom had plenty of space and all very well thought out. Be mindful on arrival that 1) if you catch the 1Euro bus from airport its a 20 minute uphill walk from the station bus stop. Its fine, but be ready 2) check in is at the sister hotel round the corner, so head for that 1st. The staff are really friendly and helpful -thank you Sandra! Checkout is at 12 and you can leave bags there. 3) the pension is on 3 floors with no lift. It's fine and I just took it slow getting the 20KG bag up and down. I would return to this accomodation every time!

is a perfect location, for visiting most of the monuments around, a few caffe and couple bars, definitely highly recommended
