Looking over the water there is beautiful - I wish I had gone into that little lake. I did use the wellness area to the full extent.
All the pluses:
Room was spacious, with toilet and bath separated. The entire facility was very clean. The service over all was very friendly. The breakfast room (also the restaurant) was freaking gorgeous!! There were nice nooks to sit around everywhere you looked. I enjoyed the Aufgüsse on Sunday (I paid 25€ to use the wellness area longer).
Cons:
I travel a lot, so apologies for being very picky.
For a Wellness hotel, the gym was very sad. It was outside of the hotel main building in a converted shipping container, overlooking a wild field (instead of the water just a few steps further down). So to go the bathroom, you have to leave the shipping container to enter back into the facility. This was the first hotel gym I went to that didn’t offer a water fountain.
Breakfast is lavishly displayed, but truth be told, it was just primarily pre packaged Wurst & Käse, pre made omelets and eggs. There was also fresh fruit and lots of cakes/cookies. At the price level that this hotel demands, however, you typically have someone preparing Omelettes for you to your liking. Maybe some avocados, chia pudding, feta. At a four star hotel, you typically have someone coming around to ask you whether you want fresh coffee or juice. I tried the automatic coffee machine there twice and just couldn’t drink it. The laté (milk coffee) tasted like instant coffee combined with a lot of (powdered?) milk. I drank tea both mornings instead. Coffee was terrible. Juices were straight out of the container.
Internet barely worked in the room and other general areas. You may have a signal to a router - but no internet. Forget working from here.
To use the wellness area, you are given a beach bag with towels and a cup when you check in. So you’re expected to carry your beach bag around the facility with you during your stay. Why not just offer towels and reusable cups downstairs? That felt a bit cheap.
Last but not least, our room was overlooking the parking lot. Kind of sad for the steep price.
All in all, the place is gorgeous and if you tend to use a facility differently from us, then you may give it 5 stars. From my husbands’ perspective and I, it was a solid 4. There were too many corners where they were clearly trying to “save”: gym, breakfast (coffee / juices / personnel), (cleaning) towels and cups.
