Enjoyable stay

This is a lovely hotel full of character and in a fantastic location right in the centre of town. Comfortable and clean with some lovely touches in the rooms like dressing gowns, coffee machines and complimentary toiletries etc... A separate restaurant and bar which served a good selection of drinks and we didn't have a evening meal but the breakfast was outstanding. The best thing going for this hotel was the staff who were outstanding with their help and service. A particular mention goes to a young woman called Esti who couldn't do enough for us and nothing was too much trouble for her and her welcoming smile was a constant feature. Well done to everyone working there. I would definitely recommend a visit.

The room was clean and a good size but the carpet needed renewing as it was in bad condition.The bed linen and towels were excellent and the twin beds were comfortable. Our room and our friends room were "shabby".Paint work etc. I complained about the fact that the bath water went cold before I had run very much.There was no soap to use in the bath.Only soap available was fixed to the shower wall and by the washbasin. I was woken up at 5.35am on the morning we were leaving with a text message from the hotel giving a link for the bill to be paid. Following my complaints I was given a small refund. The hotel needs money spending on it to bring it up to a good standard. Our dinner on Thursday night was good - no complaints about the food and the staff were all lovely and couldn't have been more helpful. Sadly Abbingdon was disappointing as there were quite a few closed shops and the remaining ones were not selling "quality" goods. Too many coffee shops !

Great food. Staff very good. Room a bit tired but with lovely touches eg L’Occitane toiletries. Need handrails on the steps into the hotel.

We had a lovely relaxing one night stay, the room was well equipped, quiet, the bed comfortable and we had a really nice evening meal and breakfast, good menu choices for both too; my partner has complex allergies and the waiting staff were very respectful of the potential risks there, including remembering them at breakfast the next morning (same waitress) A++

Lovely place to stay, perfectly set out and lovely breakfast

Room was nice, bed sheets and towels were clean, nice to have both a coffee machine and a kettle and branded toiletries as well as travel kits (shower cap, toothbrush etc…). However I had a street facing room and the windows were so thin that the bed was literally shaking when trucks were on the road. Despite earplugs, I couldn’t fall asleep: the bed shaking would wake me up in fear someone entered the room while I was asleep. The aircon/heating was also quite loud. I didn’t try the breakfast since I had to leave before they started serving it (7am weekdays).

One of the best hotel restaurants we've been to! They upgraded our room since it was a slow time of year. Rooms are beautiful, historic with modern touches. Great service!

Lovely place to stay. We stayed for New Year with friends. Food for both breakfast and dinner was of a very good standard. Cleanliness was amazing as was the general service by all staff. Parking was easy and safe.

Nice stay. But room could do with a deep clean

Breakfast and coffee excellent . Staff friendly. Room average with aircon above beds which was annoying when it turned on and off ….. best left off!

The first indication of what was to come was the chipped paintwork and threadbare carpet on the staircase and landings. The room was small, cramped and uninspiring my husband was particularly disappointed by the mould in the shower and the totally inadequate lighting.

Staff all really helpful and friendly, breakfast was good. Only complaint was room was really cold.
