We loved our stay at Kinta in Naeba and would absolutely return. The staff were extremely friendly and spoke fluent English, which made everything easy from check-in to departure. Our room was spotless and a great value for the price. We stayed in a private bathroom room for three with traditional Japanese floor beds and a balcony overlooking the stream and ski slopes, which was a great way to start and end the day. After long days on the mountain, the indoor and outdoor onsen were perfect for unwinding, and the sauna was a nice bonus. The rooms were very warm, almost too warm, so we turned the heat off and still slept comfortably with just a sheet. There is a heated gear storage room on the ground floor, plus rental options if needed. Despite what Google Maps says, it is less than a 10-minute walk to the slopes using the street that connects directly to the South Gate. The staff even dropped us off at the bus stop when we left, which was a great final touch. This is an excellent choice for skiers and snowboarders visiting Naeba.

The exterior and the entrance hints brutalism and art deco respectively while the room is traditional Japanese. The resort hotel is just a 5 minutes walk to the Naeba ski resort but much cozier and well maintained. Hosts are attentive and well mannered gentlemen and ladies.

We had the pleasure of staying at The Kinta in Naeba, Japan, and it was truly an unforgettable experience. From the moment we arrived, we were struck by the lodge’s stunning design. The architecture and interior design perfectly blends traditional Japanese aesthetics with modern comforts, creating a serene, cozy atmosphere that makes you feel right at home. Every detail, from the wood accents, art pieces to the layout, is thoughtfully executed to enhance the overall experience. The amenities at The Kinta are top-notch. The rooms are spacious, well-appointed, and impeccably clean, with a beautiful view of the surrounding snow-capped mountains. The lodge offers a wonderful balance of comfort and convenience, from private onsen bathing to wonderful breakfasts and dinners (don’t skip out on the restaurant!). There’s also relaxing common areas where guests can unwind after a day on the slopes, making it the perfect place to enjoy a cup of tea or chat with fellow travelers. However, what truly sets The Kinta apart is the hospitality. The owner is an absolutely brilliant —exceptionally kind, approachable, and incredibly knowledgeable about the local area. He made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived and provided invaluable recommendations for exploring Naeba, from hidden ski spots to the best local dining options. His personal touch really made the stay feel special. A special mention also had to go to the owner’s son who picked us up and dropped us off at the bus station, not to mention the excellent food he cooked and served in the restaurant. Whether you're coming to Naeba for skiing or simply to experience the beauty of the area, I can't recommend The Kinta highly enough. It's an exceptional place with a wonderful owner/family run hotel and all the amenities you could possibly need for a relaxing and enjoyable stay.

The Kinta Naeba is family run and operated accommodation. Their daily breakfast is very tasty and homemade bread is so good. We had 3 course dinner one night and it was JPY 4,000 per person which was great value and tasty. The staff are very friendly and the owner goes over and beyond making sure your stay is comfortable and memorable. The location is roughly 8min walk to the South Gate where you can rent gears, buy lift tickets and use lockers for small items. The Kinta sells lift vouchers which is cheaper than the official tickets. Highly recommend to stay at The Kinta. Bonus is tasteful paintings and arts are displayed throughout the accommodation. The owner will happy to explain the artist and origins.

Everything was perfect. The service was impeccable at checkin, breakfast or dinner. I definitely recommend the dinner. The ski resort is at a walkable distance. The onsen was also very nice with an outside portion where you could see the small river. The room are also very spacious. Definitely recommend.
