A really nice pub with rooms

Very friendly and efficient, nice welcome, lovely cool room, in this heat, very welcome Helpful bar staff, as I was on my own with my dog, the baan who took my order went above and beyond normal service. Great place for dogs as there's a small park area directly over the road.

We booked a room with a garden view which I would recommend to book. During this heatwave the room was a comfortable temperature. The room was a comfortable size for two with a seating area. Breakfast was not buffet (hooray!) Everything was cooked fresh. I would recommend trying the meals in the restaurant but don’t opt for the large roast. That’s definitely a meal for two, as is the mixed grill. The staff were friendly and professional. If I was going to be negative, I say they need more than three disabled parking spaces. The location was convenient to visiting local attractions. It should be noted that the road that passes the front of the hotel is busy with associated noise.

Check in was no frills. We arrived half an hour before check in and was offered a room but for an extra fee. I accidentally booked the room for one person so had to pay an extra £12 for breakfast which was fair enough but on check out an additional £10 for the extra person which I thought was unfair.

The room was huge the bed was huge and so comfortable staff were so helpful sort out early booking in as we had a wedding to go to, breakfast was good we really couldn't fault the place

The staff were super welcoming and friendly. The food was expensive, but definitely worth the price as it was stunning. Well stocked bar. The rooms were spacious and extremely well kept. The shower was actually devine, if I could've snuck it home I would have 😂 we would 100% stay here again

Faultless all round. Plenty of parking, welcoming reception, friendly staff, well-stocked bar, great room, good beer garden, super menu and superb food at reasonable prices. I don’t usually stay anywhere twice, but the Boars Head will be an exception

Another very pleasant stay

I've stayed here before and as I was in the area I decided to revisit. I wasn't disappointed. The staff were great, the food is sublime. It's a family run hotel that could teach the big brands how to actually do customer care. The rooms are serviced daily, unlike most places since covid. The rooms are good and the bed was oh so comfortable. The updated bathrooms are great. I'll be back, I can't wait to return

Breakfast was fine and served at table

We left a bit disappointed. After reading the reviews we were quite hopeful but the room furniture was dated and in need of renewal. The room was adequate size but not large and the shower room floor was like a trampoline.... very bouncy! Our meal at night was poor. We both had roast but the meat was extremely poor, something like a ready meal, and I couldn't eat my meal. The whole dinner packed any flavour. A shame but the staff immediately offered a refund so was happy with how they dealt with it. Breakfast was a vast improvement!
