Room was clean but cramped and one wall was was unpainted plywood (just unfinished not a style choice!) Breakfast supplies in room. Fridge, kettle, toaster but nowhere to sit to eat Shower barely worked Hairdryer blew but no heat Looks very neglected from outside. Dead plants in window boxes Was in a good location and had off street parking but glad we were only staying one night. Would not return or recommend to anyone.

The parking on site was safe, staff excellent and breakfast - although not cooked was adequate and appropriate as a continental breakfast (expected a cooked breakfast).

Great, central location, nice walk into main part of town. Room was comfortable and clean. The owner was very helpful, moving cars around to make sure parking was sorted. Also allowing us to use a different room for a shower in the morning, as I broke the pull cord on the shower in our original room!

Clean room, bathroom excellent, staff / owners great, breakfast good, parking - I ended up parking away from the property due to road works and traffic chaos due to water-main leak on the main road.

A small but friendly hotel with a very highly recommended restaurant. I booked a single room which was perfectly suited to my needs. Parking is tight but that has to be expected in a Medieval town that was built for horses not cars. Overall a very pleasant stay. I would certainly stay again.

It was a clean room, with a beautiful white duvet cover, and white towels in the bathroom. The breakfast is in a cupboard and a fridge and is a fine breakfast, with bread, yogurt, jams, and cereal, with tea, coffee, hot chocolate. The Candlesticks is very different, which is lovely.

This property is conversion of 3 old cottages, so stairs are narrow, it's a Mish mash of corridors and rooms. The adjourned carpark is small, room for 6 cars at a push. This hotel has a restaurant but doesn't serve breakfast in it, breakfast items are supplied in your room. Our room was small and if not for the portable heater would have been cold, two separate beds, our friends next door it was the same. The bathroom was adequate, but the small wall heater didn't work, so it stayed cool. The hotel location for the centre of Stamford is good, short walk across a park, or access via the main road. Would I stay here again not sure.

The hotel is in an old building but clean with good internet. The breakfast was provided in the room and was just what we needed. The hotel is only a few minutes walk from the town centre. Excellent and we hope to return

Although the host was charming, the accommodation was not. The room was so small, you had to squeeze around the bed to get to the bath. There was a table and 2 chairs wedged between the bed and the wall. What once was a closet housed a toaster, coffee maker and small fridge. ‘Breakfast’ was a do it yourself in the room with packaged rolls, slices of bread, two cartons of yogurt, juice and milk. This would have been ok if spread on a sideboard down stairs but not in the room. There was no shower, only a tub. The room was at the top floor, up 3 very steep, very narrow flights of stairs. We weren’t given the WiFi password and attempts to reach someone were fruitless. The decor hasn’t been updated in decades. One or two of these could have been tolerated but combined made for a nightmare stay. We left after 2 nights of a 5 night booking.

The owner/manager who checked me in was very nice. The building is old and charming, plus it was very clean. It's a convenient location for the local area. However everything felt very tired and in need of a redecoration (e.g. my room had a replacement (?) chipboard wall that was unfinished or decorated.) I couldn't have a shower as the hot water pressure was non-existent, but luckily I had time for a bath. The breakfast is in the room for you which made my morning quicker, although eating it was awkward in the space provided, and there weren't two chairs (not sure if there was even one) so if you'd stayed as a pair, you couldn't eat together at the table) This was on the cheaper end of hotels in the area, and it was ok for a one night stay, but for the price I was expecting a bit more.

The hotel is clean the staff friendly and helpful. The continental breakfast in your room is well supplied and although querky in a good way was a very pleasant suprise we were in a room on the third floor which although smaller then we were use to was able to have twin beds a bedside cabinet a large wardrobe and a breakfast table a fridge and chairs without looking overcrowded The shower and bathroom adjoining was first class. We will certainly use this hotel again

Leaky ceiling, the smallest TV ever, no streaming available, electric heater instead of central heating, no heating in the shower, cheap coffee press and breakfast consisting of packaged items from the local Sainsbury’s. Not quite what I was expecting for £100 a night…
