Very disappointed with room, was so much smaller than the photos on the website. Room was unbelievably hot with no air con which wouldn’t have been a problem if you could have left the windows open. Our room overlooked an extremely busy bar which the noise was unbearable! Worst night sleep I’ve had in a long time which ruined what was supposed to be a relaxing weekend away. Couldn’t wait to leave the room as it seemed even hotter in the morning with no blinds in the bathroom it was like walking into a sauna. Wouldn’t recommend for a peaceful get-a -away. 😞

Not the best in terms of cleanliness however staff was polite.

We have stayed here a few times and this experience wasn’t our favourite. We had booked for breakfast and were forgotten about by the breakfast staff. My partner had to flag down a member of staff and ask if we could order. When the food did arrive, mine was burnt, it certainly wasn’t worth the £19. There was a large group of golfers in the restaurant and they appeared to get priority despite half of them not wanting to order any food. Over all it has left us wondering if we want to stay here again.

The Room is getting very worn out , as is the bed ! The windows need cleaning better & the Balcony is very dirty ! The carpet and walls could also do with a refresh - also the fan in the room was so old and run down

Clean large room, parking in nearby sister hotel, would benefit from a vending machine. But will def use again when next in Colchester

Clean and tidy, perfect for a quick overnight. Be aware standard rooms do not come with a smart tv, yet superior rooms do. Wish we had known this before booking as we were intending to watch a live event in the room but could not.

Getting a little run down. Homeless people camping outside . Rooms need more maintenance done.. cleaning can be a little better

I’ve stayed at this hotel several times now and I would normally rather it excellent ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️but this stay the room was not up to scratch, the toilet flush was broken and kept me awake

Fantastic room with wonderful terrace.

Clean, tidy and on Colchester high street, so a perfect location. Breakfast was served in the hotel opposite, was great.

Miss advertising of the room which we were very unhappy about as this was for our wedding day and wedding night. It took looking at 3 rooms and none were the one we booked. Good breakfast with very pleasant staff looking after us. Window cleaner cleaning the windows at 7.30am. Tv turned itself on in the middle of the night. Room wasn’t cleaned in the 3 nights we were there. We did take the bin to be emptied and asked for more tea/coffee which they went and got us and very friendly. Would I stay again or recommend this hotel NO I wouldn’t
