Very friendly staff. Beautiful, spacious room. Wonderful shuttle service to visit wineries within the historic centre. Perfect location. Highly recommend.

Property is old and quaint. Very good location.

Our room was bigger than we expected. Bathroom was nice with a big shower. Our room could have used a full length mirror for dressing. Very nice place to stay with a short walk to shops and restaurants. Many wineries close by as well. We would certainly stay there again!

Service was fabulous, always someone there to help. Room was stunning and unique with floor to ceiling balcony access overlooking the golf course. Quiet location. Breakfast (Eggs Benedict) was superb!

Cozy as expected!!

One cozy spot! We honeymooned 35 years ago at Oban Inn. We decided to check out The Charles Hotel. What a great place! Thank you.

Staff were really helpful and friendly and the hotel had a rustic and old fashioned charm which was a nice change from glass fronted and steel framed modern hotels. Probably could do with a wee bit of a refresh but not to the extent that it would destroy the charm of this friendly hotel.

The Expedia website for The Charles Hotel heavily promotes a deep soaker tub as being a feature of a Premium Room, and I switched to this hotel specifically for this reason. I immediately advised the front desk of my disappointment, and I was advised that Premium rooms do not have such tubs (I double checked the Expedia website at the time, the tub was still prominently advertised). I checked The Charles website, looks like only one of their 12 rooms has such a tub. Also, this hotel does not have an elevator, and no help was offered to bring up luggage. The walk-in shower was large and lovely, the bed was comfortable, and the food and service were good (very pricey). Beautiful grounds.

Staff are extremely friendly and I loved the little welcome gift upon arrival. Location was perfect. Right downtown and easy to walk or bike to everything. Our first room was comfortable, but not very bright so we requested to change. They kindly moved us to a much brighter room, which was an upgrade because it had a patio. So nice...but the bed was very noisy and not as comfortable, which was a bit surprising. We had dinner one night at the restaurant on-site and it was absolutely delicious. And our server was so kind and attentive! Highly recommend!!

The property is beautiful and the staff is really top-notch, especially the staff at breakfast. Food is phenomenal and everyone is so friendly. My only real Complaint that would probably stop me from going back was it was difficult to sleep due to the lighting and noise. The first night there was a party booked on the outdoor patio, which was right below my window. It ended fairly early, so that wasn’t a huge issue, but the room is very hard to lock out the light because they have lights strong on the balconies which do not get turned off at night and illuminate in the room, even with the shutters closed and there’s light coming in from the doorway and see the hallway. I understand it’s a classic old home and that’s to be expected, but it was hard to sleep. Other than that, it really is beautiful and located close to the water, golf course in the main road into town. If I do go back, I would stay in a room that doesn’t face the street
