Fantastic location and very clean. The staff were very welcoming, efficient and helpful. The location is brilliant. Very easy to explore the whole of Dorset and opposite a train station, (Moreton) if you want to use the train. There’s also a bus stop opposite. We were close to the Tank Museum, Clouds Hill and the village of Moreton has a beautiful church with stunning windows, and it’s where TE Lawrence had his funeral and he is buried close by- you can visit his grave. Excellent location for exploring. The food was good and reasonably priced- we ate there on the first evening. The only drawback was the road noise sometimes during rush hour, but this is not the fault of the owners! A lovely stay and very reasonable. We were here during a heatwave, so the aircon in the room was appreciated. There is also a co-op close by for convenience too. The breakfast was generous and included too. Staff very friendly and welcoming. The Frampton family are also historically connected to the Tolpuddle Martyrs (the family were on the wrong side of history, so this was a fun connection when we visited that area too! ) Lots to see and do and near Chesil Beach, all the Hardy bits and pieces, Cerne Abbas Giant, Dorchester, Blandford Forum, Poundbury, etc. -all easily reached by car.

The room was clean and well presented however the fixtures and fittings in our room were insecure and were nearly falling off the wall. (toilet roll holder & the shower). The staff were very overworked on the day we arrived, the key was handed to us and we were sent on our way with no real welcome process. We later ordered some food and drink from the bar menu, it took 15 mins to order the food & drink at the bar. Our Starter then took an hour and fifteen minutes to arrive. the main course was a further 45 Minutes. My steak arrived with the fat not rendered down or cooked and and the steak was not cooked as i asked (medium rare) in fact it looked like it has been cooked in a microwave. The staff were massively overloaded with work on the night with around 4-6 staff trying to run the bar and the restaurant and they couldn't keep up. Im not sure if we arrived on a bad night or this is how the place is usually operated. the following morning the breakfast was disappointing with only a few cold cuts of meat and some cheese on offer alongside a selection of anaemic looking pastries with not hot options at all. I realise this was a low(ish) cost hotel booking (£80), but I would not recommend or look to stay at again.

The room was spotless and very comfortable and the staff were extremely helpful. The continental breakfast was ok but could have been fresher (croussant and pastries a bit dry).

It was very noisy. Flimsy door to room that was by a busy road and railway. Room small. Breakfast unappetising. Staff not friendly or welcoming.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Check in quick, given all the info we needed. Classic Double room was larger than expected. Well stocked tea and coffee and biscuits. Lovely clean bathroom, good shower, plenty of hot water. Continental breakfast was fine and catered for gluten free. We ate in the restaurant for dinner. A good selection of dishes at reasonable prices. The majority were gluten free. The food was excellent. The pub is next to the railway crossing and station, but no noise overnight. Would definitely recommend.

My third visit. Very comfortable bed and clean bedroom and bathroom. On site EV charging is a great facility, plus easy parking. Whilst no cooked breakfast what is offered is very good and there is plenty to eat. Great pub with excellent food - very generous portions. Very accessible to be able to explore Dorset and the option of the train station on the door step is perfect if you don’t drive.

Perfect place to stay if you’re in the area. We had a twin room, which was a good size and had a full bath tub with soaps, shower gels and shampoo. Tea/coffee making facilities and free bottled water. The rooms are attached to wonderful pub, the staff are super friendly and the food served there is excellent. Definitely make a bee line for the roast lamb if you’re there on a Sunday. Plenty of choice for breakfast. My only wish would be the option to have a hot breakfast, but for the price of the stay there’s no way to moan about that. Would stay at the Frampton Arms again in a heartbeat. Great stay
