We spent one night in this historic hotel in downtown Cuenca because I wanted to experience the old way of life herr in Ecuador. It was a beautiful space, nice staff and good food for breakfast. The room was comfortable, had hot water and super fluffy, nice towels that were pleasant to use. I liked the soaps and shampoos too - often in Ecuador, the have bad chemical products but these were favorable.

We had the privilege of staying at Casa Rosada for one month. As our taxi pulled up to the charming green doors, Luis was there waiting for us on the sidewalk for a hearty Cuencan welcome. Karina joined the welcome and they walked us to one of their favourite breakfast spots and they gave us tips on navigating the neighbourhood. Luis and Karina remained accessible and eager to assist us throughout our stay with recommendations and resources. This Casa is impeccable, clean and comfortable and situated in such a lovely and vibrant neighbourhood. This quiet street is a refuge and yet just a short walk to the historic centre, the tram and a multitude of bakeries, cafes and restaurants.

On our first night we stayed we had an issue with hot water but it was quickly corrected. The staff understand the hotel is not perfect but are very attentive. The first girl cleaner would double lock the door constantly so we could not leave or enter and was quite rude to us when we asked her to leave it open so we could return. She said no, she would not leave it open( I also speak spanish so it was not a language issue) It was very stressful when my husband was locked out for 10 minutes in the morning after walking our dog to use the bathroom. I let the main person know about the issue and he apologized profously. We came back later to find a new staff member being trained and she is very kind. Sometimes there are bad employees and I understand that. All in all the place is clean and comfortable, accepts pets and is very quiet. We had a massive bed and all slept soundly. Aside from the one issue, everything was great! If something is not to your liking you can ask (yell in my case for hot water in the shower haha) and it will be corrected instantly. The area is very central and close to attractions.

Good hotel with free breakfast. To get it to the hotel you have to ring a doorbell and then an employee will come to open the door. We stayed in a suite that had 2 bedrooms and 4 beds ( one bed was a sofa bed), there was a kitchen, a bathroom, and a living room. I think the room was great, especially for 70 dolars a night.
