When i got to the hotel i had to pay more for a resevation that was already made. The room was freezing and my nephew had some bites all over his body.

The courtyard was so beautiful. The history of the building added to the intrigue and charm. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We had a wonderful 2 night stay. Safety was a high priority with a fare to buzz in guests. The breakfast was very nice and again the cavern environment told a story that added to the experience. It’s a gem in Quito.

The building itself is the most interesting part of the experience, and worth exploring. It's in a convenient location and offers great views. Our room was comfortable and beautifully furnished.
The staff we encountered are bi-lingual (at least) and very helpful. The breakfasts provided were tasty but also among the healthier I've experienced in a hotel.
We enjoyed our stay and would use this hotel again.
My only criticism is that they are a bit stingy with niceties like pillows (2 hard ones provided; softer available by request), bottled water (none in-room), and washcloths (zero). The built-in hairdryer in Rm 8 is hazardous and should be replaced.

Staff were great and location is great. The hotel is also really cool. One of the oldest residences in Quito. Had a few issues with hot water running out in the middle of the day so shower early or at night. Also I believe people use this as a stopping point for the Galapagos so people are coming and going all hours and can wake you up at 4am because there isn't a lot of sound barrier. Also if you unlucky enough to get rooms 5 or 6 then anyone walking down that hall lights up your room like it's the middle of the day.

The common areas, the art work, and the staff were all top notch. The room itself was OK and the cleaning could be improved. The location for the centro historico was very good, but the area looks somewhat seedy later in the evening. Take a cab. Otherwise, the price was attractive. It's not a place you want to stay at for more than a couple of days.

Room was very basic, but clean. Bed was HARD and pillow was flat, but we were only there for 3 nights, so we made do. Staff was helpful and breakfast was fresh. Staff arranged our airport transfers seamlessly. There is no elevator, but we could keep our excess bags in a secured storage room instead of having to lug them up 4 flights of stairs. We felt safe here.

This hotel could not be more central and is two blocks from the main square. It’s also near the subway station and the KFC.
There is a supermarket next-door.
The economy room is pretty basic but very adequate for two nights Stay at a very reasonable price.. The public areas are pretty spectacular and look like an aristocratic mansion
My only complaint is the low quality shower which would be an easy and cheap fix. In my experience, this seems to be a failing throughout Latin America.
Exceptionally helpful receptionist who helped me order McDonald’s via the app on New Year’s Day as the restaurants were closed. He was also appreciative that I brought him a free dinner.

If you would like a quiet room, as the front desk. Was stayed in one of the rooms with a beautiful staircase, it meant we could hear the things down below, but it wasn’t too bothersome.

The staff is very courteous, but breakfast is basic - just bread, juice, fruits, eggs and coffee with no options. The rooms are very small without windows. Only good thing about the hotel is its central location. Staff do not speak English.

The historic hotel is beautiful, especially the courtyard. The location is wonderful, just a short walk to the historic district sites.
