The room was nicely decorated, and bed was comfy. The shower in the bathroom was small with no door so soaked the room. My main issue was cleanliness. There was think cobwebs in most corners or the room, all over the blind and coming down onto the cups. The cups and glasses were dusty and I tried to have some of the complimentary water but it smelled stall and the bottle was dirty- it had been sitting there a long while! The cleaners definitely need to be re trained, it was just very slapdash. The restaurant was lovely and dinner was so nice. For breakfast the service wasn't great and the juices and milk , bowls etc weren't topped up throughout breakfast so if you were down later, you just didn't get. A general okay stay but could have been better with easy adjustments.

Was really hot despite the desk telling us it was a nice cool room - we got a service charge for 2 on our evening meal despite no mention on the menu -

Well maintained, stay regularly over past few years and is consistent. Breakfast is excellent. Helpful and friendly staff!!

First impressions it looked like a lovely place. Room was after reading previous reviews was a little disappointed much smaller in size and a glass door on the bathroom !! Decoration tired and not as clean as I would have expected. Bed was very comfortable and room quiet. Fans in the provided in the room due to heatwave which was helpful. Restaurant was nice but menu very limited. Staff very helpful

Lovely room, large bathroom, great breakfast, menu in the restaurant for evening Dinner was a bit limited and the restaurant was closed early on Sunday. Because of the extreme heat the room was uncomfortably hot as there is no aircon (just 2 fans supplied)

Comfy bed, friendly staff and tasty breakfast

First room we stay was next to a very busy road so if you are like me and prefer a quiet night sleep then i would recommend to put in requests un before you arrive. Rooms was lovely decorated however the cleaning was quite poor a lot of dust not sure if that was living up to living in a paddock but could do with some attention. While food was nice, not a lot of choice and was rather expensive but there is lot of eating places in the down centre. Staff very helpful throughout our stay but seem to be very busy juggling different roles so at times there were a bit of a weight. Room could do with having a phone or few extra amenities such aa iron or even having tea spoons for making a hot drink and some milk rather than having to go down to reception making staff work even harder.

Found the staff very helpful, nothing was a trouble for them. Breakfast very nice and room very cosy. Happy camper 🎇

Perfect location for visit to highclere castle just off A34 spacious car park my wife and I stayed for just a night the room was very quirky wasn't sure about bathtub in bedroom but also a lovely shower was in the ensuite all amenities in room great everything clean,all the staff were friendly and very helpful food was spot on would definitely stay again

Everything was brilliant. Starting from staff, dinner was unbelievable nice, breakfast even better. Cant fault it to be honest

Room was like a Sauna and had 2 fans in there but hardly slept all night as it was so warm. Carpet was awful which had stains everywhere. No iron or ironboard, poor menu no milk in the room which they put outside my door sometime after 10.30 in the night as it was there in the morning. This is a really nice place to be fair and staff were great but needs some attention made to the points I’ve made

Room - Our room was not that clean and it had to be vacuumed. It had sloping ceilings over the bed and in the bathroom so there was a lot of head banging. The bed was comfortable. The room faced the main road and was very noisy throughout the day and night, especially as it was hot so we had to leave the window open, no air conditioning/fan. A member of staff let themselves into our room on the second day whilst we were in bed, shocking. Food & Drink - The restaurant and bar was in a nice setting and had good outdoor space. My fish was overcooked. Husband had a burger which was very nice. Not much choice in beer or gin. They said they had run out of a few beers. Breakfast was very good. Staff - The staff were very pleasant and helpful. WiFi signal not good EV charging was available, easy to use.

Only thing I would suggest is that the rooms have a mini fridge

We only stayed for one night but were very impressed with this pub/hotel. It exudes quality and interest. The ambiance is excellent. All the staff we met were very welcoming and professional. The food was lovely. Will definitely stay again if down this way.

Nice room if a little hot, air con would really help ! But otherwise faultless, great value for money and lovely people. Have already booked my next trip
