Found a bed bug in bed before going to bed the first night. There’s nothing the staff could do, no cleaning, no room switch, no compensation, no accountability. Next day staff simply said, “We keep up with our sanitation standards, unfortunately we cannot control who brings in the bed bugs.” They switched us into the room next to the original room; I had to do a thorough check and just could not sleep well the rest of the days.

Absolutely amazing, very clean, friendly staff. It’s exactly as it’s shown in the pictures.

It was a nice place

This is NOT a hotel, this is a hostel. The images are VERY misleading. I was expecting a small room yes but what i got was a wodden box the size of a bed. Very small, very hot, very very bed. I could not wait to leave and I would not stay here again.

Clean

Loved our stay here!! Staff was super nice, everything was clean and easy to check in/out. Very safe and secure. Photo are super accurate to what you get. And at such a great price in comparison to other spots. Lockers are bigger than they look in the pictures as well, we were able to fit two carryons, a personal, and a large suitcase in ours.

Inattentive to cleanliness. Got bit by bed bugs, causing us to have to do laundry for all our clothes to avoid bringing them with us to the next destination. The property was unbothered and showed little concern when I advised them of the issue upon check out. They were more worried about us checking out on time to be able to turn the room over to the next guests. I received zero compensation for the issue. Good location I’ll give them that.

This property blatantly lied on Google and Expedia. This is NOT a hotel, it’s a hostel. Rooms are not like they are shown on the website, they are cubes. The door to the room stopped working, and the staff did nothing about it. They refused to move us, despite many rooms being available, we even offered to pay more. There was 0 ventilation into the rooms, effectively turning them into ovens. There are Air conditioners in the corridors, however they weren’t used at all despite requests. This place was absolutely abysmal and I recommend everyone coming to Madrid to avoid this place at all costs.

En general, esta bien para pasar unas noches, dormir y tomar una ducha e ir a explorar la ciudad. En mi caso con el cuarto privado estuvo bien, buena cocina con todo lo que se necesita, el baño estuvo limpio en todo momento, mi unica queja seria que el temporizador que le tienen a la luz del baño dura unos pocos segundos y si no te mueves se apagan las luces, del resto cumplio mis expectativas.

the air conditioning did not work. the shower head had a mind of its own. the room smelled of mildew. no place to hang clothes up in.

It wasn’t mentioned in the expedia reservations that the double room has shared bathroom and showers and I was surprised when I checked in. There’s no lock on the shower doors anyone can open it while you’re in! The room and sheets were clean but it needs to clearly be mentioned in English that these are shared bathrooms. With the amount I paid ($180 for a night) I could have booked a better place with private shower and bathroom

Located in a busy area of Madrid which is great. I can’t believe though that hostels in Madrid are so expensive. Regarding this property I didn’t care much for the staff because they tended to treat everyone like they were 11 years old like you were disturbing the peace if you were up at 2 am and had to use the bathroom

Close to the centre

There was an ungodly smell of dead feet throughout the rooms. Turning on the fan seemed to make it worse. My room was super cold. My son's room was super hot. The front desk staff tried to placate me and told me they tried and tried to clean out the smell after a previous occupant had stunk it up, but couldn't get rid of the smell.! Why did they rent it to me if they knew it was that bad? Why didn't they refund me my money when I wanted to leave early? They kept saying they needed to talk to the manager, but that conversation apparently never happened. We had to book another hotel because we couldn't sleep at this one - the smell was that bad.

We arrived at the Hotel in the evening, the front door was locked and we had to wait a while for someone to let us in. The reception only speak Spanish, we do not but we got by. The receptionist took us to our ‘room’, IT IS NOT A ROOM, IT IS A BOX WITH A BED INSIDE! We booked a room not a bunk. There is no room around the bed at all, therefore no room for luggage etc. The electricity in ‘the room’ did not work, no lighting at all and no power. The ‘room’ had a very unpleasant odour, we could not stay in this ‘room’. We advised the staff we could not stay, as I say they do not speak English and we do not speak Spanish. I immediately booked another hotel on hotels.com. The next morning I contacted hotels.com as I could not get to speak to anyone at the hotel who could speak English. After many calls with hotels.com they advised they would look into this for me and get back to within 72hrs. After 24hrs hotels.com came back to me to advise they could not get the Modular Suites hotel to agree to a refund and they have now closed the matter. Unbelievable!!!!’
