Room cleaned every day, helpful and pleasant staff and good bar.I was disappointed my Room was at the back of the Hotel, in the past when I have stayed i have got a Room with a veiw of the promenade and sea. I assumed when booking, because of the price, I was getting a room over looking the promenade.

The hotel is beautifully decorated, Customer service was excellent. Staff were so welcoming and friendly. Breakfast was cooked to perfection. Would highly recommend this hotel.

Staff member apon check in was great and even showed us to our room. Unfortunately the room let us down, it was a very hot day and the rooms have no air conditioning. Phoned reception to ask for a fan to be rudely told THEY WERE ALL OUT! We stayed in the family room, was a nice size and clean, could do with a mini fridge and air conditioning. The WiFi in the hotel did not work at all no matter where we where in the hotel.

The hotel was a real contrast in experiences. When we checked in the woman could not have been more helpful and with the unusual heat, the room was very stuffy, and they provided us with a fan quickly. There was one bartender who was extremely rude and dismissive. In the evening went down for a drink, and the staff was extremely rude, and while we were sitting having a drink, one of the staff turned over tables in front of us to let us know that we should leave and go back to our room. Extremely rude. Other than that, we had a wonderful stay.

Room was quirky but very comfortable,Bar was very quiet,prices a tad higher than expected,£18:60 for two Jameson’s and Ginger.Food last night was a pizza,chips and salad,breakfast very tasty and filling.

Stayed here for our 30th wedding anniversary, the staff were very helpful, the food excellent and the sea view was the icing on the cake, will definitely book again.

To start with positives, the Staff were excellent, helpful & friendly. I have a walking stick and on checking in the Lady at reception insisted in carrying our bag to the room. Everywhere was very clean. We ate in the hotel both nights. The food was excellent, as was breakfast. However the room was very disappointing. Very small & cramped and the lighting very poor. I could barely see to shave in the en-suite. Despite the good breakfast (evening meals not included obviously) the price charged was too high considering the room. Some of the stairs leading to the rooms had no handrail, potential for a fall and again corridors had very poor lighting. None of this would be fault of the Staff. Despite the excellent quality of food & staff based on room, we would not stay there again.

We love staying in the Avoca Hotel. Staff really go above and beyond to make sure you have everything you need. The rooms are clean and fresh towels are put into your room every morning. If staying over the winter months rest assured you will never feel cold as each room has its own thermostat controlled radiator. An absolute pleasure to stay at this hotel.

We very much enjoyed a lovely one night stay at the Avoca. We had the most fantastic view from our room overlooking the sea and Mourne mountains. The room was really nicely decorated, cosy and had a large comfy bed. Everything was very clean and well presented. All the staff we came across were so friendly and welcoming. The breakfast was also excellent - great choice and plentiful. Overall a real gem of a stay and we will definitely be back!
