A very warm welcome and a spotless room. No food on site but they offered to provide crockery and cutlery for a takeaway. Nothing was too much trouble. Good priced and well stocked bar.

A hotel, with a pub, NOT the other way around ! Locals drop in and not the usual plastic Corporate you normally experience. Yes, it is limited as they don't provide food, but gauge your expectations to the location and price ! Rooms are big ! Car park is big (plus free overnight Market Square parking, if busy). Great selection of beers and the place is huge. Reception is massive. I can see why local Weddings like it, plus smack in the middle of Alford town. Would I stay again - Yes, actually, and I have stayed at quite a few hotels in my career. This place is just honest, simple, clean and relaxed. Plus, if you want a takeaway, they encourage you, unlike other hotels ! Enjoy

Lovely spacious room overlooking the market place and the luxury of a four poster bed, wish we could have stayed a few more nights.

Pet friendly great hosts, nothing too much trouble fully recommend. Andy was a star and his partner was great with our Oscar.

Loved the large room with window overlooking the square, but felt cleanliness and general maintenance of room and building needed some improvement.

We enjoyed our stay and will defiantly book again staff were very helpful over a booking issue .The hotel is in a great location and is a character hotel with a long history.The bar is well worth a visit. The town is very quaint.Very good value.

The hotel was in a great location for the town and plenty of free parking outside. We stayed in a standard family room 108. We stayed in the summer and the room was sweltering. You can hardly open the windows so there is no air circulating and no air conditioned. They did supply a tiny fan but it didn't really help. The bed and towels were very clean. But the overall room felt dusty and old and could do with some work. There were stains all over the walls and ceiling, the paintwork and walls were cracked and chipped. Also on the bathroom floor there was alot of hair on the floor so I think the cleaner might have forgot to run the hoover through there, which was a bit grim! The lady who greeted us at reception was lovely and friendly but we didn't see anyone on the Sunday at check out as left quite early.

Good parking area. Room was large comfy bed. Needed some work doing in bathroom the flooring was coming away and the main room window frame was in desperate need of attention. Only saw 2 members of staff over 4 days they were polite.

Room bedding was excellent towels were also good bedroom was dusty and cobwebs behind the bathroom door I don’t think it had been cleaned for a while. Parking was very good
