The room was clean but had a number of issues : Although there was a coffee machine , a radio , and a fan there were no bedside lights. The main light switch by the door was the only control meaning finding your way around in the dark. The notice on the wall of upcoming events was a month out of date There were nasty glass mugs rather than a proper mug or cup The snack basket for occupants to purchase was vastly over priced There were birds nesting in the roof over the room which were noisy throughout the night The staff serving food / drinks were very pleasant, helpful and efficient however as one of us is celiac and can only eat gluten free food the food offers were very limited and the pudding choice was ice cream or nothing.

Clean room, comfortable bed but room could do with some TLC. Quite noisy early in the morning with deliveries etc. Can’t comment on breakfast but the bar/restaurant food in the evening was very tasty.

We were staying to spend a day on the railway and explore the town. An excellent central point.

Staff were really helpful and friendly, rooms were spacious, rooms a little warm in hot weather but fans were provided. Breakfast was really good and a fun lively venue for an evening drink as well.

We liked everything. However — we would have liked bedside lamps, a hook for towels by the shower, and a fix to the hazardous step by the bathroom.

This pub was like a home from home. The staff were friendly and were especially welcoming to our Labrador. The room was spacious and comfortable, and the welcoming touches for the dog were a sign that he was really welcome - it was our first time staying in a hotel with him. The location was great - right in the middle of Tenterden within walking distance of lots of other restaurants and pubs. The food in the pub was also great, and there was a selection of wines and beers too.

Good parking facilities. Hotel is right in town which is a real bonus. Staff were helpful and friendly. We did not have breakfast at the hotel so cannot comment on that. We went instead to a very charming cafe just for a change. Unfortunately the down side of the hotel are the rooms. We had a twin room, nice view and large. However the decor was very tired and frankly grubby. The bathroom was ok but if you tried turning round in the bath whilst having a shower you could, and I did, crack your head on the lowered ceiling which was half way across the bathroom. Hard to explain but was very unpleasant. It really should be completely renovated. Maybe this was only in our room. Who knows.

Location fantastic,staff very friendly, breakfast was great parking was ok too. The room was a big let down, I have stayed there before and said that the rooms looked tired and I was assured that they were being upgraded in January . Well my room showed no sign of that, the paint was peeling, the room was noisy, not helped by the fact that we couldn’t close the window. Gary Elelman 9-10 April

Location is great. Sİnce it's on the high street, there is a good choice of shops. We just got the keys so didn't interact with the staff much. I cannot comment on that. It's a tired building. Room was ok, could have been cleaner.

Great position with the bonus of free parking

Very conveniently located, quaint, the architecture restricts certain modernisation features, but it is comfortable, clean and enjoyable

The pub was full of life, staff friendly and helpful, room had some nice features. Breakfast good. Friends joined us in the bar and were the last to leave…long suffering staff very pleasant about it!

Very tired needs a revamp.

Room as well prepared and the staff were excellent

The cleaning staff were really friendly. I needed the room a lot earlier then check in time and the hotel made it happen.

Every time I have satyed there

Lovely rooms, brilliant staff. Good selection of beers, great food, evening and breakfast. Nice area to stay, High Street packed with shops,restaurants and other drinking establishments. The Grapevine Jaz bar down the road for cocktails, the steam train round the corner and the Old Dairy Tap House on its doorstep. Perfect👍

Clean room friendly staff

Room was looking tired, and in need of renovation. Food in the restaurant wasn't up to standard, and quite tasteless. Breakfast was better.
