The hotel could definitely use a few upgrades and updates in the rooftop area, but overall we had a really good experience. The staff was friendly, the location was somewhat convenient, and everything was clean and comfortable. Despite a few outdated details and the small pool not being available, we enjoyed our stay and would consider coming back again.

Everything was ok staff was excellent

Staff was very helpful. Rooms are small and the photos and information on Expedia is somewhat misleading. This is not a resort just a very basic hotel.

Great hotel shame no restaurant

We booked a twin room, and wrote a note in Spanish that we needed two beds. But on arrival we were told there was only a double room available. One of us slept on the floor on a towel.

Cleanliness and friendly staff. Also location was great.

Hotei was clean and in a good location. Staff very helpful. Room was cramped and nowhere to put luggage. Wash basin was part of the bedroom area

Great staff great spot

Very friendly and helpful staff. Fran explained all at check in, and gave a few restaurant recommendations, along with bus links to go further afield. The Number 1 bus is a 20 minute ride to the'Old Town' from nearby (mere minutes by foot) Las Canteras beach. Thoroughly recommended.

Staff and facilities brilliant

I stayed 8 nights at the Occidental Las Canteras in Las Palmas, Gran Canaria, and was quite disappointed overall. Several aspects did not meet the expectations of a four-star hotel. The handle on the sink kept falling off, and the shower flooded the bathroom floor every time we used it, requiring us to place towels on the floor constantly, which stayed damp throughout our stay. The room had no windows to the outside—only a window facing the elevator, meaning anyone walking by could see directly into our space. Not only was there no view, but there was also virtually no natural light, which made the room feel even more cramped and gloomy. The room itself was very small, and overall, I would rate this hotel closer to a 2.5 or 3-star level. That said, the staff were kind, helpful, and professional, and the breakfasts were very good. Their service was the highlight of the stay.

Business trip, good comfortable hotel with a great location just next to the beach. I didn't have any view from my room as the small window was point towards other parts of the hotel but as it was business I was too busy to look at a view anyway. There was a rooftop bar which I was also too busy to get to
