Our stay at the Chameleon Hotel was good. We were pretty wary when we pulled up because the outside looks extremely run down, but based on other reviews we decided to give it a try. Inside was good and our room was very clean and bright with large windows. The lady at the front desk was very helpful and friendly. We partly chose this place because it included breakfast but weren't able to eat breakfast there. There was boxes of cereal, blueberry muffins, yogurt and fruit cups available in the fridge. We did have some yogurt and fruit cups which were sealed, but didn't feel comfortable eating any of the unsealed items. The breakfast room was always open even when staff wasn't there. The idea of always having everything available is very kind but since it's not monitored it would be hard to know if anything is tampered with. We felt safe staying there but I would suggest extra security on the room doors with an extra latch since there's only the one turn lock door handle. Overall we enjoyed our stay and may stay again if it's cheaper than other places as it was this time.

It was a good place to stay for a night. The front office lady was very warm and helpful. The room was cute. The continental breakfast was good. Muffins, yogurt, coffee, bananas. Simply but yummy. The outside of the building and the interior is a bit rough, but the room itself was very clean.

Hotel common areas are very run down. The rooms are clean and tidy and much less run down than the common areas. All parking around the hotel has signs limiting to 2 hour parking from 8am-6pm, unknown if this is enforced.

Old but cleaned! We couldn’t start the heating system so it was cold. The reception lady was lovely and easy access to the kitchen

I did not know what to expect when I booked this Hotel. But upon my arrival I felt like I had done the right thing. The check in was so perfect. I was made to feel so welcome. The room was amazing with a stunning view. I loved walking around the area trying to decide what to eat. I had only passed through Castlegar once in the past, and this was my first overnight stay, but after being there I have already started making plans for my return, and the next time I will definately be staying longer.

It’s a case of you get what you pay for. It’s an older property and definitely showing its’ age. We loved the area and the downtown is trying to make a revival. The sculpture walk was fun and the museum was great. It was relatively clean, it had working AC, the shower/water pressure was good, the bed was fine and everything worked and we had a self serve continental breakfast. The property definitely has some quirks but we liked it. It has the potential to be a wonderful rejuvenated property. I hope it can get there!

No frills, but clean and quiet. Good value for your money.

The price was quite reasonable but the property was a bit rough especially on the outside and the common areas.

It's a little dark when you first walk in but Caden was very friendly and welcoming and the room was bright and clean! We would stay here again.

manager on site was very pleasant and we appreciated the included breakfast in the little kitchen aera.

nice hosts, clean and well kept property located downtown

It is an older place, however it has all the amenities. The owner/host was delightful and works really hard to maintain the building, keep it clean and offer accommodations to travellers. Overall, the great customer service and wonderful people made me return. She was very accommodating - i arrived very early and she ensured I would be able to get in fast. Really lovely.

The property was fine for myself, not so good for my wife, it was small, but did what it needed to do.

I had to cancel the reservation because the place was unsafe, dirty and dark, nobody was at the front desk to talk when I arrived. And it looked scary to go around. I looks like a shelter, not like a hotel at all. I was so disappointed, and their add was misleading. I called to Expedia to cancel this reservation, I hope the did it.

Photos online very misleading. Building was charming but very old. No elevator, no AC in the room - temps were in the 30s, bed very soft. Owner very nice but i would not reccomend a stay there at the price charged
