We are so pleased and happy with our time in Hotel Sucre. The staff is top of the line, everyone was very happy to help out and make us comfortable was their main goal. Location is supreme, restaurant food was amazing, rooms were very clean and comfortable, the balcony looking out to the main Plaza is amazing. Gabriel and his staff are amazing. Definitely this is the best option in the historical center. DO NOT SPEND DOUBLE THE MONEY IN HOTEL GARGOTENAS, IS NOT WORTH IT.

I have used Expedia many times before and never left a review. This is my first. I booked the room a few days before my arrival. I get to the hotel and there seems to be an issue. The only person there is a young security guard. He said there’s nobody at the hotel to check me in. Apparently they have been gone for a few days. Now I’m like what do I do? I am in an unfamiliar country and I barely speak the language. I’m standing outside with my luggage hoping I don’t have to sleep outside. I had a long flight, and a long taxi drive, and I’m tired. This hotel left me stranded. Luckily I found another hotel nearby from Google Maps. I would never book Hotel Sucre again. I kept walking back there every day to try and get my money back, but no staff members were there except for the security guard outside. Stay away from this hotel.

Staff was great, but spoke almost no English. The room was cold, with no temperature control. On my second day the front desk clerk found a portable heater for me. The worst thing was that the breakfast room and restaurant was on the fourth level and was only accessible via the elevator. The staircase between level two and four was blocked off so that there was no emergency exit and no way down from the restaurant if there was a power interruption–a definite safety hazard!

It was very noisy outside. Nothing Hotel could do about that but other than that, everything was great.

Hotel is renovated in historic district Nights were chilly but a heater was provided. Breakfast was served at time requested. Beds were comfy. An elevator was available for mobility problems. Having coffee available in the lobby would have made my stay perfect.

Property is charming and clean, staff is very friendly. But be warned, the rooms have no heat. If you ask, they will bring you a space heater which was effective but the bathroom will still be cold.

Spanish speaking only, but they worked very well to understand us! I really appreciated the food package they gave us on leaving. It helped us get through the airport hassle.

I had a really enjoyable stay here at Hotel Sucre for 3 nights. The staff were very welcoming upon arrival. Shirley was brilliant. The rooms were very modern, clean and spacious. The towels were new and clean also. I felt very safe as the hotel had a guard who was also very helpful. Food options were great with choices of dishes and drinks. I used the laundry service which was very reasonably priced. I would highly recommend staying here. The location is excellent, 1 minute walk to the Metro and only 3 minutes to the main square.

Great location for accessing historical center of Quito and the metro. Noise from street and above bar/restaurant can be excessive. The restaurant was convenient for late arrival and in-house breakfast. Staff is super helpful.

The hotel actually looks better in reality than in pictures. The location is perfect to explore the historic center. The staff is extremely helpful.
