Just scan the barcode at the entrance gate, set it. If you want to be more satisfied walking around the temple, it's better to go in the afternoon so it's cooler, it's really hot during the day.

I went to Prambanan just before sunset, and it’s a beautiful and peaceful complex. Highly recommend. But don’t forget to walk around the other temples, like Candi Sewu.
