In 2007, the city was envisioned as a sustainable and modern city center within Iskandar Malaysia, and in 2016, the name was changed from Nusajaya to Iskandar Puteri that last until now. Even now, Nusajaya still become a dedicated area as a world-class economic and tourist destination and is home to several popular tourist attractions including Legoland Malaysia, Puteri Harbour Family Theme Park, Sultan Abu Bakar Museum, and Puteri Harbour Park. 

Nusajaya which is now formally known as Iskandar Puteri aims to create a world-class city with a focus on innovation, sustainability, and attracting international investment. The city itself is divided into several distinct zones, each catering to several purposes such as Commercial where it is filled with high-rise buildings and business centers, Residential with options ranging from luxury apartments to family-friendly neighborhoods, Leisure and Entertainment that housing the popular Legoland Malaysia theme park, and Puteri Harbour, Education that features international educational institutions, and Governmental where The Johor State Administrative Centre is located.

There are several free shuttle buses that are operating within the Nusajaya area. Some of them are only available for specific areas including in some large-scale developments or theme parks in Nusajaya like Legolang Malaysia houses a free shuttle bus that operates within the theme park.

What is the History of Nusajaya?

Nusajaya was originally envisioned as the new administrative capital of Johor, and the name was used from 2007 to 2016. In 2016, the city was renamed Iskandar Puteri to honor the current Sultan of Johor. The name change sparked some arguments that the established brand of Nusajaya should have been retained, however, Iskandar Puteri became the official name since then. Despite the change, the vision of the city remains the same which is the development of Nusajaya for residential areas, commercial zones, and leisure attractions.

For visitors who are looking for Pleasant Weather and Fewer Crowds, then it is recommended to visit from February to April which is the shoulder season, offering comfortable weather with temperatures averaging around 27℃ with lower humidity compared to peak summer months. As for visitors who plan to do various Outdoor Activities and participate in various Events, then it is recommended to visit from June to August which is considered to be the peak season when the weather is quite hot averaging around 30℃ with a lesser probability of rain during your activity.
