Ivotel Abidjan

Very nice hotel, great location, lovely room. Staff super helpful and friendly. Would have liked a hair dryer in the bathroom.

Room condition is overall OK, but WIFI in the room didn't work at all. It is very fatal problem. (Near reception, WIFI was available.) Hot water machine didn't work well..

Except for the repair noise I experienced from the floor above during my most recent visit in September, the conditions and staff service at the hotel were excellent.

We stayed in this hotel based on the fact that it was closer to the airport than the others, and it offered breakfast and shuttle service. That being said, I would never stay here again. The lobby is nice and the staff and breakfast were good. That is where they seemed to have placed their efforts. The rooms although spacious had a foul smell. Despite the air-conditioning, the rooms and hallway were FULL of mold. The bathroom shower area was poorly caulked, and the pitch was away from the drain, so the floor got wet when we showered. The sink water was warm and the shower water was very cool. I don’t know how that could happen, but it did. Their site says they did a renovation in 2019. I didn’t see evidence of it. Others in our party changed rooms, and had similar experiences, so this is a hotel-wide issue. This hotel appeared to cater to many male workers for overseas companies. Unlike another hotel we stayed in nearby, this hotel had NO security. The machine to scan people and bags was dusty and just beeped as you walked through the metal detector. May I suggest that they really do an upgrade!

I stayed in Ivotel during my solo travel to Abidjan. Overall the experience was great but some things were lacking. I took advantage of the airport shuttle, I was expecting a staff at the airport since I already provided my arrival details, I had to buy a SIM card at the airport to call the hotel before someone came. Now my room, my room was quite spacious, aesthetically pleasing and comfortable. However, there was a gutter (drainage) smell I noticed everytime I entered the room, your nose quickly adjust to the smell since the AC is always on. I realized this smell could be a result of the poor drainage system in the shower, I noticed water wasn’t draining properly while I was in the shower. My bed and door had a quirky sound as well. Aside from these issues I will totally recommend Ivotel. It is situated in a good location, easily accessible for drivers (esp if you don’t speak French), walking distance to some restaurants and the plateau mosque. The internet service was okay, occasionally wouldn’t work. The staffs were helpful, nice, and spoke enough English to communicate(be respectful they are not English speakers)! The breakfast buffet option was quite nice and they provided enough options. They were kind to give a small bag for me to take some croissant to go!

I enjoyed my stay at Hotel Ivotel and would always go back. It’s a beautiful and serene environment with good staffs.

The room was so so. The bathroom, apart from the renovated shower and sink the toilet area was a mess. There were wooden patches there to cover the piping. I noticed spiders. My washroom door was a sliding door that didn't slide, i.e. the door was never shutting. The breakfast was sub-par, and if you try to order room service past 9:30, the restaurant will not allow it. Overall, not a very good experience. Wouldn't stay here again.

Best quality hotel TV I have ever had - new LG. Netflix and Prime access to. Maintenance needed in some places.
