What Guests Say About Their Stay

The staff could not have been more helpful. We arrived 10 minutes before the kitchen closed but they realised we had just risen 105 miles and kept the kitchen open while we showered. The food was delicious and the bar staff ensured we re-hydrated, with beer and gin. Great work all round

All the staff were welcoming and friendly and are a credit to the hotel. They loved our dog too - Toby who was rewarded with a welcome box and treats during our stay - even giving a sausage at breakfast. We can’t thank the staff enough, when we realised that my husband had left his wallet in the bedroom. The reception team contacted us and went above and beyond to send his wallet back!m. Both the housekeeper’s and receptionist are exceptional! The room was lovely with great pillows and mattress - something that’s very important to me and you don’t always get it from a hotel stay. The hotel is in a great location, next to the river and with lovely outdoor seating and a car park too! It’s great that you have a car park This was our first time visiting Blandford Forum as we our considering our next move and Blandford Forum is at the top of our list.

The hotel is an old Georgian building and therefore reflected in the rooms and amenities. Lots of character and charm. However, this means no aircon and old fashioned door locks etc. They provide a fan but our room was still too warm. We stayed in April so the summer months could be tricky. The bed was very comfortable and the shower room was well stocked. Shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, lotion and lovely fluffy towels. Lots of tea and coffee. Coffee was high quality bags and not the nasty Nescafé granules you usually get. Lovely biscuits too. For breakfast I had a chocolate croissant which was great followed by a full English. Unfortunately this was a bit disappointing. Sausage tasted cheap and the bacon was streaky and not back which was quite tough. No black pudding and only one hash brown. Toast was described as whole meal but was just plain brown. We had lunch sat outside in the sun which was very nice. I can recommend the fish finger sandwich. Beer is excellent and the staff were super helpful and working incredibly hard.

Historic hotel with lots of character, but also filled with modern comforts and amenities. Staff were welcoming and friendly, room was nicely decorated, cosy, warm and comfortable. Breakfast and dinner menus in the rooms, along with a selection of drinks, and a whole book full of the hotel's history and other useful info. All toiletries provided too. Large bar area and restaurant serving food and beers from the local Hall and Woodhouse brewery. Room prices were really reasonable considering that they also included breakfast (both cooked and cold items available).
