Rooms are clean and comfortable. Bathroom offers minimum amenities (1 bottle of body wash and shampoo), and for some reason there was no hot water in basin or shower in the morning! Breakfast ordered from menu, so it's freshly made. Although difficult to contact/get response via email initially, staff were helpful in returning lost property item to me which was much appreciated! This hotel is a historic building that is showing a few signs of age on the outside. There are the inevitable multiple changes in floor level through the building. We had a small ground floor room so avoided the steep stairs. The shower was very small. The room was quiet, looking out onto the carpark. Parking was free. Check in and out was automated so there was little contact with hotel staff other than in the restaurant. Breakfast and dinner were good. The hotel is best for guests with a car as it is some distance from the centre of Gloucester.

I visit Gloucester fairly regularly with work and will stay here 9 out of 10 trips.
Its 5 minutes drive away from the center on Gloucester. It has plenty of amenities within 5 minutes walk and the canal is only a 10 minute walk away. The place itself has a nice feel to it, good food and clean rooms, ample parking.

A superior room was booked. It was tiny. Ground floor. Very cold. The hotel property is old and in desperate need of decoration and updating. There was no water in the room, surely a basic in a hotel these days?! The shower was awful, no water pressure. The toilet is the size of a primary school child’s bottom and very, very low. The towel provided (found another in a Cupboard) was rock hard. Toiletries provided were basically fairly liquid. Now the main issue-the bed. It was a king (?) made up with two separate single mattresses that were different heights. Every move emitted a squeak and clunk of mattress springs. They were old and extremely uncomfortable. We got barely any sleep, eventually sleeping at 5am! There were no staff to be found at checkout. We will never stay here again and would recommend that no one else spend their hard earned money. When we complained, via Expedia, there was no apology, no refund, part of other. Avoid!!!
