Hotel Continental

Could not sleep as there was some new construction around the hotel exactly in the front of it,

We booked through Expedia the Suite with Balcony room. Upon arrival, we were greeted and our booking was located. The receptionist, who seemed a bit air-headed and confused, gave us our key and told us there is no elevator. It was the smallest room and not what we booked. We went back to reception and asked for the $91 room we paid for and she said it is not available as the sink faucet in the bathroom was not working. We asked to see the room anyways and followed her upstairs. It was the room we paid for but much much smaller than the photos would have you believe. The ac was not on and the temperature was a sweltering 102F that day. When we turned the ac on, the air was barely moving even on max and it seemed that it needed to be recharged as the air was not cold. We said we wanted the room despite the lack of functioning sink faucet because we could brush our teeth in the shower so we carried our 3 checked bags from the car up 3 flights of stairs and they offered no assistance. No surprise that the water was turned off completely so a call to the front desk to inform the manager allowed us to shower that evening. Sleeping was incredibly uncomfortable as the ac did not cool off the room and there were patches of drywall missing on some walls. This place is a scam, the we’re not willing to offer a refund when asked, and they said “sold out” on every room despite there being no other cars on the property but ours. Don’t believe the “sold out” status that you see on this site.

Der Schein trügt. Direkt an der Hauptstraße. Baustelle nebenan. Frühstück war ok. Hatte mir aber unter Continental was anderes vorgestellt. Lieber ein Hotel in der Altstadt nehmen.
