Loved our stay at Kyoto Granbell Hotel. Amazing location, main tourist attractions, bars, coffee, restaurants, public transportation, Kamo River, all easily accessible from Granbell. Staff was amazing and incredibly helpful, they arranged our luggage forwarding to Tokyo as we did not want to bring all our stuff one night to Hakone. Room was incredibly comfortable and quiet, the bathroom with tub was amazing, beds and small table with chairs made it great for a three night stay. We did not have breakfast or visit the bar but they looked great. Loved the self service coffee machine in lobby, snacks were a hit too. Filtered water machine was a great amenity as well. Unfortunately did not have time to enjoy the public onsen but heard they were fantastic. Hope to return and will be suggesting Granbell Hotel Kyoto to others!

Loved our stay at Kyoto Granbell Hotel. Amazing location, main tourist attractions, bars, coffee, restaurants, public transportation, Kamo River, all easily accessible from Granbell. We had a lovely stay overall. The staff were fantastic throughout — incredibly helpful, welcoming and always happy to assist with anything we needed. The hotel itself is beautiful and in a great location, which made exploring very easy. The only downside for us was the room size. Although the room was beautifully designed and very comfortable, there was very little space, and as two travellers with large suitcases it became quite challenging during our stay. That said, this may simply be a cultural difference in expectations around luggage and space while travelling. For solo travellers, shorter stays, or those travelling lighter, it would be absolutely brilliant.

The hotel is in a very good location, quiet, safe, walkable to many points of interest. The beds were a little hard for our likeness and the pillows too flat. We didn’t try the breakfast but it looked very basic. Lots of restaurants and shopping just at the door.

What an amazing stay in the heart of Gion with an easy walk to everything. Lots of eateries close by and a 2 minute walk to the station and Main Street of Gion. The service is excellent and we loved the amenity bar stocked with toiletries. The room is comfortable and quiet you just need to use your ninja skills to get in and out of the bed we booked the king room so there is no space to walk around the bed. We would stay here again in a heartbeat.

I had a fabulous experience and stay. Staff were great to deal with, polite, professional and very helpful. Great location to everything. 15-20 minute cab ride to train station. The King bed suite was lovely, and the public bath was a wonderful experience. I did not eat here so I cannot offer any input on that. Property was lovely and met my needs for 2 night stay and experience for that area. I would definitely stay again.

This is a very nice boutique hotel with great service and nice facilities, but the best thing about it is the location in Gion district. You are just steps away from the busy streets and alleys full of shops and restaurants, but the hotel is very quiet. Staff is friendly and attentive. Walk to temples or to shops with ease. Breakfast is an awesome buffet of western and Japanese cuisine. Highly recommended.

This hotel was modern and very central and easily accessible to other areas of Kyoto. Hotel was beautiful; however, our room was very small. We did not have much room as the king size bed took up most of the room. We did not have the option of the deluxe traditional corner suite which are adult kids had. That would have been a better option. Breakfast was excellent, staff wonderful.
