The three bedroom cottage was ideal rather than staying in a hotel. The cottage had all of a homes amenities, but best of all the grounds were beautiful to just relax and take wonderful walks through the forest. Although I did not stay during the busy season, De Thijmse Berg provides plenty of recreation. The onsite restaurant was a pleasant place to enjoy lunch and dinner. Nothing fancy, but tasty meals without having to leave the premises if the kitchen isn't your favorite room in a house. I was pleased with the self-serve laundry on site, so I didn't have to pack for my entire stay. Sanjay was very helpful in setting up a late arrival (after close of office) and providing information regarding the train, which is a short walk from the grounds. All-in-all, a great place to stay if you want something other than a boring hotel room!

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel and will stay there again in the future. It was clean, quiet but still close enough to some larger cities.

The property was clean but wasn't like the photos on the website so thought we were getting something totally different. Also the photos were taken from angles making the place look bigger than bit was We were a party of 4 but it actually slept 6, goodness knows how you would of fit 6 people in it, you wouldn't of been able to move. Rooms very small but luckily weather was good so spent most time outside. It was very warm and we were bitten to death by mosquitos every night. The snack bar was awful, everything is frozen then fried but this seems to be he norm over there and the restaurant we were told doesn't open in the summer which we thought was strange. It was very quiet which was nice, we stayed in the Family Cottage section. The best thing though was the staff, they spoke fluent English and we're so friendly. Everyone on site were pretty much Dutch and there was no one else from England which we loved. Also you must hire a bike if not taking the car as you are quite far out of town to walk.

The family cottage we stayed in was basic in design but equipped with all comforts you need. 3 bedrooms, 2 shower rooms, 2 toilets, a kitchenette, tv, free wifi. It was clean and had a wee terrace with outdoor seating as well. A few small things were broken when we arrived, but they were fixed quickly and without any upset to our activities. The cottage looked out on a small play area, which was fantastic for our two children (aged 3 and 4). The park itself was lovely and quiet in a foresty background and it had a bigger play area and outdoor swimming facilities that were very nice indeed. During the time we were there they also had lots of activities for the children to participate in, which my eldest really enjoyed. The location is very central for the Netherlands, so easy to get to lots of places.
