Beautiful place in a perfect location for seeing all the sights. They gave us a bus card to travel back and forth to Interlaken, and it was also close enough to hike. The hotel staff was very helpful.

Wilderswil is an adorable town in close proximity to Interlaken, which makes the hotel an ideal base for exploring. The hotel itself is beautiful. It retains much of its coaching inn heritage. Breakfast is delicious, with a wide variety of offerings. One thing to note: because it is a heritage property close to the mountains, it retains heat. In the recent heatwave, this made our east-facing room rather hot, even with the fan, so we spent our evenings walking around town to cool off.

Our second stay there (prior May 2024) but warm (July) and no a/c or stairs so need to take that into consideration. Room was small and overlooked noisy parking lot- even noisy after 11 PM with windows open due to no a/c. Would not stay there again unless during shoulder/cooler season when windows are closed. Quaint 320-year old chalet hotel, so that was appealing.

No elevator. 10 minutes walk from the wilderwill station. Breakfast was very good. They provide bus pass which departs every 30 minutes so you don't need to walk. Room floor makes sound when you walk or someone walk upstairs floor.

We very much enjoyed our two nights stay at Hotel Baren. We liked being located in a cozy neighborhood which is well served by an efficient bus route. The staff was instantly welcoming, and our room was large and very comfortable. We especially enjoyed the balcony with a Mountain View. We enjoyed two delicious breakfasts as well as one of the best dinners we had during our visit, served in the dining room. Our waiter, Daniel, was efficient for our group of six and went out of his way to make our dining experience special. The Bear Inn was a highlight of our stay in the area!

Complementary breakfast was OK. They didn’t really have many options except for bread. My husband is severely allergic to tree nuts, and peanuts and they had them everywhere.(then again we know the world does not revolve around us, but there were no allergy signs anywhere.) as for the hotel room itself. It was cozy cabin vibes. The restrooms were not the greatest. Too small random out of place repairs that were noticeable.

Not value for the money we paid, expensive. Breakfast was very basic, only scrambled eggs and fried potatoes were on offer for hot food. The room we were given was basic and very, very dated. Stained carpet, old furniture and worn furniture, shower head with no ability to change direction.
Very poor. Hotel needs a refurb.
