Maraini Apartments

The property is in a very central location served by a couple of bus routes that take you the city center or the main train station in less than 5-10 min. It is on a busy road, though, and there is traffic throughout the day and night, which may be a problem if that type of noise bothers you. The main issue was that there was as an ant infestation in the bathroom likely because the apartment is right next to a small backyard. However, I was told by the rental company that they will work to solve the problem. Finally, the shower screen leaks in several places, which has caused a little bit of damage on one of the bathroom corners. Otherwise, the apartment was very clean and comfortable.

Located on a very busy street with narrow sidewalks. Need to provide better instructions for trash disposal - that should be included in the cleaning fee. Very difficult check in with consistent technology problems. Frustrated to deal with during travel.

1- Great location, only 15 minutes walk to central Lugano, easy access to public transportation, very spacious with 2 bedroom and 2 bathroom; however if you a light sleeper you might have a problem with traffic noise, they didn’t send the check in information until the same day we were arriving the property and the property wasn’t ready until 15:20

Unfortunately we did not have a good experience in this apartment, in fact, we had to leave, due to a number of issues relating to the property not meeting our basic expectations. We found food crumbs around the lounge, and had a general sense of a lack of cleanliness in the property. The icing on the cake was the 'solution' to the air conditioner not working... which, as you can see in the photo, was to run it with the window open so that the outlet could be directed outside (the mind boggles.. on a 30C+ day, how was this ever going to work?!). In saying this, air conditioning aside (which is not something we even looked at when booking, we were not impressed, and decided to leave the property after our first night, even though we knew that we could not get a refund in doing so. This, unfortunately, has been our worst experience in a decade of using hotels.com.
