The hotel is very well decorated, has a very pleasant atmosphere, and great care is evident in the small details. It looks even nicer in person than in the photos. Everything is very clean and well-maintained. The hosts are very kind, speak several languages, and took the time to give us extra information about the city. The hotel has the perfect location for exploring Tainan, which is important in a city where public transportation is not very good.

This delightfully charming property is run by a husband (Terry) and wife (Cina). Cina was there and greeted us warmly when we arrived, and was happy to share insights on current local events and hidden gems, including the roaming night markets. Both hosts speak fluent English and Mandarin, and Cina even speaks Japanese, which made communication easy and our stay feel even more welcoming.
I stayed in the Classic Double Room (the "Tailor's Room"), which was every bit as lovely as the photos. Tainan is often called the "Kyoto of Taiwan" for its rich cultural heritage, and this property truly captures that spirit. The decor is beautifully curated, integrating historical furniture and accents with modern conveniences. Entering the property felt like stepping into a thoughtfully restored piece of Tainan's history.
While the Tailor's Room is popular, I'd like to surmise that the Comfort Double Room ("Craftsman's Room") is an underrated choice for solo travelers wanting a balance of personal space and social opportunities. The square footage doesn't include a bathroom, so it's larger than it seems on paper.
Lastly the location is unbeatable, tucked away in a quiet, artsy alley with many cute shops, right in the middle of Tainan's bustling city center. The ground floor common area also has ample seating—perfect when you're in the mood to meet other travelers. This property truly embodies Tainan’s culture, with hosts who make you feel at home. Highly recommend for a memorable stay!

The host is excellent and very helpful. Property and room nicely decorated. Location was right in the middle of city center.
Biggest negative for us was that our room was open toilet and it was not mentioned anywhere in the description. It was ok for us as a couple but from hygiene perspective, we do not like it.

Love the location, the rustic feel and the hospitality. A minor comment, maybe the pantry can be better equipped with more plate, bowl, cutlery, etc for guests who want to eat in. Otherwise we had a wonderful time, thank you.

Location was perfect, few minutes walk to the market, authentic Taiwanese food and slow life neighborhood.
Me and my mother stayed in the top floor suite for 2 nights. Room was spacious with private access to balcony. We enjoyed each of the decoration from mini tile bath, washed granolithic finishing floor/stairs to octagon windows. Lots to explore within the house.
If you love old Tainan style houses you will love this place for sure.

Was an amazing experience. The house is decorated in the mid 60s style. Our room, the sowing room, was very nice with quite air-conditioning. I do have to say this room is more for couples than friends. Terry contributed to our home-like feeling, which I really am grateful for. The location is close to a lot of temples. To me it felt that we were in the centre of Tainan.

One of the best experience! The host personally waited for our arrival, thoughtfully explain to us the house and showed us around the space. They took effort to a curate an area map which literally showcase the "Best of" Tainan district. Is a authentic old house design set in a local neighbourhood which immediately let us immerse in nostalgic old time film setting. Love all the details that's being put together in the space. Highly recommended!

Adorable local old house at a serene neighbourhood in a town. We love it very much and highly recommended for family to stay. Kids will definitely love this place. They even provide an adorable vintage style baby cradle and bath tub without us requesting for it. Very thoughtful and we appreciated it very much

An interesting hotel with style.
It is located near the famous snail alley, where there are numerous small shops for one to lose oneself in.
The hotel is a repurposed old building and everything down to the furniture is kept in accordance to the theme.
Even the water glasses are the same as the ones my grandmother has in her period house.
The staff is friendly and provided nice travelling tips.

The owner renovated this old house to be a small hotel with antique furniture and contemporary amenities. When we were staying there, it feels like staying like a local. Its location is in the old town of Tainan. It is quite convenient while it is also quite quiet and peaceful area. It is one of the best places to stay in Tainan.
