Sherry Frontenac Oceanfront Hotel

This property is stuck in the 80's it needs a serious facelift, everywhere you look something is wrong, wallpaper peeling off walls, stained carpets, smelly floors, rooms are so outdated, DO NOT TRUST THE PHOTOS, the bathroom and shower look like prison cells, small dingy crappy patchwork on walls, floors stained from who knows what, some of the hotel employees were very friendly, and then you had your front desk people not so much, so cant say much for them it was a give or take depending on who you encountered, the pool was nice, although walking on it would rip your feet, the floor of the pool needs some serious work as well, breakfast was ok, they don't mention that the eggs and other hot stuff is charged $10 a plate though, they only mention FREE breakfast, the beach and the attendant on the beach setting out chairs and umbrellas was the nicest guy there, always checking to see if people were comfortable and needed anything like the umbrella moved or an extra chair whatever, that was a saving grace and made staying here bearable, back to the room, the phone didn't work AT ALL asked 3 times to have it looked at one guy came up said he'd look at it in the morning never came back, AC was hot as and never went below 74, all in all it wasn't worth the stay and I would never go back here again

Good locación old property but very clean ocean front nice small beach and pool

This property was amazing! They offer a beautiful hotel with easy beach access and a huge pool. The area surrounding the hotel offered many diverse and delicious dining options within easy walking distance.

As other reviews state, it’s very outdated. $150 deposit. My room was leaking water from the ceiling when I checked in. I tried calling the front desk but no answer so I had to go to the front desk in person to ask for help. About an hour later someone showed up to stop the leak. They never came back to clean the water off the floor so we had to use our towels to do it ourselves. I had events planned so I didn’t have time to keep asking for assistance so I couldn’t take a shower during the time I was there. The beds were comfortable and the view was amazing. Breakfast was a normal continental with options to purchase better meals. I didn’t get a chance to explore the restaurants or businesses near by but the atmosphere looked lively everywhere I went. In the morning, I headed straight to the beach to enjoy the chairs, towels and umbrella included in the room price which was a nice addition. The water was too cold in the pool and ocean but I got a beautiful light tan and fully enjoyed the peace of the water and the perfect weather. Make sure to stay in top of your parking, they don’t have valet. If you pay for parking on the street, the first session may only have an hour avail for about $3. After 11, if you renew the same spot, it will let you renew for 7 hours, getting you through the night for the same amount. Parking directly across the street was available when I woke up the next morning for 3-6hrs at a time if you call the number instead of using the ParkMobile app.

Lovely location right on the beach, great walkway along ocean, restaurant in hotel, food was good, beautiful big lobby, nice pool area. Would have liked to see eggs at breakfast, other than that it had many options. Rooms dated but clean and comfortable. Would return.

The room itself was great, but everything else needs work. Key cards that only work for a day or two are extra annoying .

Nice property by the beach.

Not usually a hotel I would stay in but they were pretty nice and staff was decent. Being last minute it was good. Wasn't any vallet parking but you could go the hotel next door or across the street. Wasn't too bad either, like 30 dollars a nightn at the time.

The beach was beautiful and the rooms were nice.

The ONLY good thing about this property is the short walk to the beach. I had to get a room change after I took a video of a cockroach crawling on the phone on the nightstand, right next to where I was sleeping not 20 minutes prior. There is also a door in all "partial ocean view" rooms that leads to nowhere and functions as a window. Mine came unlocked and was being pulled open by the wind. I was worried the whole door would open and I was on the 8th floor. When I asked about a refund, I was told I needed to check out of the hotel and that they would talk to Expedia. I checked out and paid for another hotel, since the room I was switched to didn't have temp control and I was burned in the shower. I never got a refund and the staff were rude and did not care. It was also clear from other guests that these issues were typical.

We arrived at 1am to anrun down hotel. We paid extra to get an ocean view room, and when we got to our room there was no electricity. A few minutes later the concierge arrived and we could see how bad things were (he even said that for the price we were paying we should've gotten a better room): dirty curtains, the bathroom was full of rust, they had pulled out a sink from the room leaving le holes in the wall, and extremely loud AC that masked even louder neighbours! Beds were uncomfortable la, so I slept on a chair. Also, while they charge you a "resort fee" No water is provided, so had to walk to the Walgreens a block away. It was so late that we just slept a couple hours and left for the port as soon as we could. The property may have been nicer 20 years ago, but has not been maintained. Overall the worst hotel I have ever had.

Staff good except one lady at front desk gave almost every one cheking in out or question hard time with unpleasant face. would not return unless gone

No one serviced our room in 2 nights even after a request. No hot water in shower. Location is good. Hotel not awful, just ok.

Property could use some updating but amenities make it worth it.

The only downside of this place was that there was no prying so we had to pay to park in a nearby public parking lot. We did not see this listed when we booked it. Other than that it was clean and a beautiful location and everything was great!

Everything was great. It’s a bit dated but they are making improvements. The only thing that was mildly aggravating was the room door did not lock consistently and we had to fuss with it for a bit each time we went out for it to lock.

Awesome room with great view right on beach and boardwalk wanted to stay another week but they were sold out can’t wait to go back

Breathtaking view with the balcony room. As the hotel sits right on the ocean in North Miami. There were three incidents that didn’t make a five star review. Air-conditioning did not work the first full day. When we tried to call, no one could answer after 11 o’clock. The following day they never turned the air one from downstairs so all night we were sweating Next, I arrived from the airport at 2 PM check out was not until four in which it was a long line that took about a half an hour to get through. Very inconvenient. In the last was minor, but the beds were updated yet the other furniture very outdated as they were swapping out items in the elevator, which also delayed the process of going to our rooms initially But because of the pool and the walk out to the beach atmosphere, I would definitely visit again hopefully just another room
