Avoid at All Costs – Filthy, Unhygienic, and Mismanaged I regret booking a stay at Studio 6 in Carlsbad, California—it was, without a doubt, one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever had. From the moment I stepped into my room, I was appalled by the state of the furniture. The couch was in complete disarray—stained, torn, and truly disgusting. The bed was just as bad, made with only a single sheet and no blanket. When I went downstairs to request one, I was told they didn’t have any blankets at all—an absolutely ridiculous situation for a hotel. I then asked for a different room, which the front desk employee—clearly untrained and begrudgingly willing to help—reluctantly agreed to show me. Shockingly, the second room was in even worse condition than the first. The only upside? It had a blanket, which I asked to take back to my original room. At this point, I was already frustrated, but things only got worse. The real nightmare? Cockroaches. My girlfriend and I killed three cockroaches in the bathroom at different times throughout our stay. That was the final straw. On top of the unacceptable cleanliness and complete lack of hospitality, it was clear that the hotel has a contract with the city or county to house homeless individuals. While I understand the need for such programs, it creates an environment that is far from what any traveler would expect in a “normal” motel. The gentleman who assisted me from the beginning was great. One of the housekeepers was great. Passed that it was un professional. I was changed to a different run due to plumbing issues with the first room. The first room had ants and the second room had roaches!!! These room were disgusting and had old dirty laundry under the couches. This hotel should not be rated 3.5 stars. Maybe a 2 star. We had to leave the facility because of large commotion on our floor that was happening and there was dog urine across our floor and the lobby area. I will be calling Expedia or expecting a call. This stay was unacceptable.

I've been going there for 4 years and I'm so disappointed in the company. They are letting things fall apart, I booked a suite and it stunk so bad I couldn't sleep in there. I think it was Cat smell. I'm okay with people who travel with pets, but the units need to be cleaned. The furniture is in terrible shape and dirty. The manager moved me to another unit, I had to downgrade, but at least it smelt clean and had better carpet. He did try to take care of me, but I inquired about what the company is doing to upgrade... It needs it badly. The staff, the maids are very nice and I can see they are trying their best. Sadly, I won't go back. I can't take a chance of getting a room that had an animal owner who doesn't care nor respect the property. All rooms are animal friendly, so that means the chances of getting another dirty room are high. Air conditioner was falling apart, refrigerator was not cold at all... yeah poor condition overall. Great locations, but not worth going into filth. Sad to see it go down hill.

Without a doubt this was the most disgusting hotel I have ever stayed in. The room had cockroaches, the couch was absolutely filthy, the curtains were torn and they provided a chip clip with which to hold them closed so that the room would be darkened, the tub was stained and the carpet was absolutely disgusting. If I could give this zero Stars I would. I was to have stayed there three nights and left after the first night. From the outside it looks great and honestly the rooms could be great if they would fumigate, paint, and put new flooring. They do not have a breakfast even though they have a dining room and I was told that the pool was still empty but I did not check myself not that I would have gone in it anyway. Extremely disappointed. Note: I have many photos but for some reason it will not allow me to upload them.

From the outside, it looked ok to give it a try. We checked into our 1st room only to find it was not even close to ready as the maid had it torn apart. Got to our 2nd room and the key card didn;t work, so I had to use my wife's. walked into a hot room, A/C was torn apart and not in working order. Tried to call the front desk, phone didn't work either. Walked down the filthy, and I mean FILTHY hallways that were noisy and SMELLY to go back to the front desk, was asked by a random lady if she could bum a cigarette off of me, and asked the front desk for a cleaner room with a working phone and A/C. He gave me another room and again one of my keys didn't work, but A/C and phone did. I walked out the back door to the car and there was a shady RV parked by the door. Door was broken, NOT secure. Couch in the room was badly stained and looked like several cats used it as a scratch toy. 2 hours later a cockroach scampered across the floor. THAT'S IT!!! WE are OUTTA here! There was a cockroach in the kitchen and the stove wasn’t working sofa was dirty no plates or cups and no soap or shampoo I don’t recommend this place at all

Room was dirty. Thugs and bums all around. Staff was mostly apathetic. Shower took at least 15 minutes to get warm. TV was messed up. Door had to be forcefully shut in order to lock. Empty concession shelves. I am a local who stayed here as my house being painted. Generally a good neighborhood but was surprised by all this. I will never stay here again.

Dirty gross and manager doesn’t respond to complaints no clean towels , no blow dryer , dryer unavailable , only one sheet on bed no blanket and just filthy

The room had cockroaches

If you like smelling smoke, sitting water, rotten food, and decaying animals, stay here. I saw multiple parties checking out as soon as they were checked in and went to the room. Had to go to Walmart to buy bed sheets, cleaning supplies, pillows, and room scent things to help……….you get what you pay for I guess. Also definitely saw roaches, hookers, you name it. Would've checked out if I could get my money back…don't count on that either. Police were circling the property all night as well…lol. AC doesn't work properly, had to sleep with the windows open all night which was great, but literally was not tolerable without the air blowing in. If I could give it a zero stars in some categories, I would.

Very old property. No shampoo

Stained bedding, awful smell on hallways, cops outside hotel every morning, felt really unsafe in this property.

First room I walked into had roaches and stains on the wall as well as food stains on the bed the room had a weird smell to it with electrical outlets missing cover plates I spoke to the front desk and waited more then a few minutes for him and he wasent around when he finally came to the front desk I explained to him what I seen and had issues with he was concerned more about the food stains and dried up food on the mattress then anything he moved me rooms the second room I went to had the same weird smell the outlet in the sink area just hanging out of the wall black stains on the walls looked like dead roaches on the wall and cuts and dirt everywhere I then looked at the sheets and they had urine stains all over the sheets I spoke to hotel.com they tried to call and no one at the front desk would answer they emailed them and received no response this nasty infested place should be shut down I left the same night and will never stay at a super6 or motel 6 again

It's such a beautiful hotel especially the entrance All in all it was a great experience.
