The Imperial is a beautiful building with impressive Victorian architecture and a real sense of history. You can tell it must have been a truly grand hotel in its day. Unfortunately, it now feels like it’s in need of significant investment to bring it back to the standard it deserves. There are clear signs of wear and decline in places. Parts of the hotel look tired and dated, and during our visit the pool area was boarded up, which was disappointing. There were also some quick fixes around the property, including gaffer tape on sections of the carpet, which doesn’t really match the otherwise grand surroundings. The staff we encountered were friendly and helpful, but it did feel like there weren’t quite enough of them at times. Despite this, the location on the seafront is great and the building itself still has a lot of character and charm. With the right level of refurbishment and investment, this hotel could easily return to being one of Blackpool’s standout places to stay.

A bit too hot in the corridors and room. Had to have windows open even though it is cool through the night. Turn heating down 1 degrees and save thousands.

Was pretty impressed considering the price. You get what you pay for so don’t expect the ritz. But would definitely stay again

The hotel is clean and tidy however, the decor is very dated. There are showers over baths and they’re quite high to climb in to. There is parking eye in the car park and you have to pay for parking. The machine inside states parking is £10pn for hotel guests yet there is a sign next to this stating it is £14. I questioned this and was dismissed 3 times stating it was £14 like the sign, and the parking eye machine was incorrect and could not be changed. When I stated it is illegal to say parking is £10 then to change it to £14, the staff member had to ask their manager who said I could pay £10. This practice is illegal and it makes me wonder how many other people they have done this too, please be aware it is illegal to claim one price, then at the point of sale to change the price, they can however withdraw the item from sale which would stop the confusion.

Breakfast and evening meal very good but hotel in desparate need of refurb. Paid extra for sea view but wind blowing gutters so loud we had to change rooms. Moved to similar room but so dated, so worn out, so sad. Not good value at all.

Room was reasonable. £14 car parking fee a massive turn off. No remote control for TV in my room; I asked the receptionist for one. I was assured a remote would be brought to my room but it never appeared. Shall not stay again.

Such a shame to see the decline The lovely service from the dining room has gone and it looks like they have reduced the staff to a skeleton House keeping also the same dirty bathroom in room then there was an ear bud on the stairwell that didn’t move all weekend The enviroment is also going down hill carpets tapped together and other damage Such a shame was a lovely hotel
