It's tougher to find hotels that don't require valet, which makes it more difficult to leave on a whim to explore. This place has probably seen better days, and the restaurant in front has closed--understandable given the recent events. I hope they work on the elevators a little more. On the plus side, the bathroom was one of the best laid out I've seen and a very nice shower.

The room’s heat wasn’t adjustable. I had to cover up in bed to read. No way to heat water for tea. Staff was unhelpful and preferred visiting with each other— except for valet parking who was helpful. The room besides being cold was very unwelcoming. It felt like a small warehouse with furniture shoved up against the wall. Didn’t even serve coffee in the lobby. The bed was comfortable and the location is great. I was had reservations for next weekend-I cancelled them.

Lovely property…great location and walkable to many wonderful restaurants and shops. Extremely pleasant and accommodating staff. Having the in/out valet service for our car was so convenient!

Great location, beautiful historic building

We had no hot water during our recent stay, rendering us unable to shower. When we called the front desk, we were told that it would be reported to maintenance. No apologies, no offers to change rooms, dismissed as if nothing was wrong. The front desk staff was too busy playing solitaire on the computer than to attend to his customers. I asked to speak with a manager and was given an email (that didn’t work!) on a Post It note! On the other hand, the valet attendant was fantastic! Energetic and attentive. Called and reached a manager who comped our stay. I wouldn’t be in a rush to return!

The room was beautiful. The bathroom could of used a little better cleaning but overall it was great.

Perfect location downtown, no parking. You can pay for separate valet.

Loved our room, the location, and customer service! We were a bit disappointed there wasn’t a coffee pot/ maker in the room. Otherwise, it was great!

Room was dirty and smelled like smoke. Could use some updating

Our room was huge and very nice. The staff were very nice and i feel did their bedt. However, our room had no heat and no hot water!! The front desk said they were aware of the heat and hot water. Said there was a problem with a boiler? Neither of these issues got better during our stay. The weather was so that it would be diffivult to find another place so we toughed it out in below freezing temps. I feel we shoild be refunded.

Rarely have we stayed at such a nice place. Very surprised but the reasonable price.

Love this historical hotel and the staff was wonderful

The rooms were really nice, and the location is perfect. However, the second-floor lobby and hallway had a strong urine smell, resembling a dirty public restroom. It was very unpleasant.

Room was cold but they did give us a portable heater. Constant lack of hot water - staff blamed the high occupancy at the hotel and stated that the one boiler was not enough to provide hot water to everyone, suggesting that we take showers at different times. Requested that the manager contact us twice and never received a call. Did get a slight discount on our four night stay. Overall a disappointing experience and will not stay here again.
